Lessons Learned📝
Heading into the new week gives us opportunities to reflect not only on the times of triumph but also the lessons learned. Being a forever student is essential in equine coaching! This field is constantly growing and changing so to be the best coaches for our clients we have to be open to learning. Whether the lessons come from a training or from a session with a client, they are all important! So I challenge you to think and share about a learning opportunity you had last week and how you are going to adapt because of the lesson learned from that experience. Was it... 🐴the way you interpreted how a horse was communicating with you about a client? 📝how to adapt an activity to meet the needs of a specific client? 🧘‍♀️to give yourself grace when you feel overwhelmed by the goals you have set for your business? Let's hear it! 👇

@Christina Beaubien ok so mine is OBVIOUSLY not horse related, lol! But! Last week I had a meeting with the boss and tech guy. Saying a lot of information was thrown at me would be a MASSIVE understatement. Half way through I was ready to just be DONE. But our tech guy kept reassuring me that 1.) All of what was being said was in writing so I could refer back to it. 2.) He is there if I have any questions. Then I had the realization....I CAN DO THIS. Yes, it was a ridiculous amount of info to take in and a lot of new stuff to learn. But in the long run it is all stuff that I may need to know in running my own business in the future, so why not learn it now? Deep breath, Heather! You got this! What lesson did I learn from this? I guess I would say, in the wise words of the amazing Bob Marley, "Everything little thing, gonna be alright!" 😁
Tagging off hump day...
@Health Coach Heather @Christina Beaubien @Delena Austin Lately I’ve been thinking about equestrians—our lives are a beautiful whirlwind of hoofbeats and hay bales, and somehow, we’re still trying to keep the house as clean as the barn. (Honestly, the barn's winning.) Every day feels like a juggling act: barn chores, keeping a dog from redecorating the living room with mud, trying to make a dinner everyone likes—even though there's always one who suddenly hates pasta this week. So how do we find time for the extras—those classes, courses, or catch-up reading that nourish us but never shout as loud as the laundry? For me, it starts with delegation. I’ve got a fleet of robot vacuums that spring into action the moment I walk out to the barn. They’re the unsung heroes, scrubbing away the chaos while I wrangle hay and humans. Living ten paces from the first stable means a lot gets dragged inside... though if you're also an equestrian, you totally get it. I swear by Audible. Whether I’m mucking stalls or on the road, I sneak in a chapter or two. Lately, I’ve started blocking out ‘Lesson Time’ on my calendar—a sacred hour to do something that matters to me. No guilt, just growth. So I’m curious—what’s in your toolkit? Whether it’s hacks, humor, or holy grail habits, I’d love to hear what keeps you riding the whirlwind without losing your reins.😁

@Julie Fitzpatrick sorry for the delay in responding.....I was on a long weekend away! Woo hoo! So If I could just name ONE tool, it would absolutely be taking time for self care. This weekend away refreshed and recharged me and it was amazing. Now I feel ready to take on the next few days before another long weekend away. I don't know how I ended up getting back to back long weekends away, but I am not complaining!!! Other tools for me are being as organized as possible, being realistic in what is a necessity vs luxury, and GRACE!!!!!!! If you worked a 10, 11, 12 or more hour day, and you realize you didn't vacuum the living room, just learn to say, "O'well!....what I did today was plenty".

Happy Hump Day Fam...
Well, safe to say the summer has been super busy so far! And we know that it is busy season for all of you. Even if you do not run a full on farm, coaching business, or otherwise. Summer always tends to be, or at least seems to be, a little bit busier. Then all of a sudden, 3 months has flown by and the weather is starting to change. That is how it goes here in Michigan anyway. 🤷‍♀️ So, when things start to slow down again, and inevitably they will.....What are YOUR plans? Pay special attention to "stay connected" in the list below. 😁 To stay on track when things slow down, focus on using the downtime for reflection, planning, and personal growth. This can involve reviewing past progress, setting new goals, or engaging in activities that boost motivation and well-being. Prioritizing tasks, staying flexible, and remembering that slow progress is still progress can also be helpful. Strategies for Staying on Track: - Reflect and Plan: Use slow periods to analyze past performance, identify areas for improvement, and set clear, achievable goals. - Prioritize Tasks: Focus on the most important activities and break them down into smaller, manageable steps. - Seek Inspiration: Explore resources like books, articles, or podcasts to reignite motivation and gain new perspectives. - Engage in Self-Care: Schedule time for activities that promote well-being, such as exercise, relaxation, or spending time with loved ones. - Stay Flexible: Adjust your approach as needed and embrace unexpected opportunities for growth. - Remember the Bigger Picture: Reiterate your long-term goals and connect them to your daily actions. - Track Progress: Use visual trackers or reminders to stay motivated and celebrate small wins. - Don't Dwell on Setbacks: Learn from mistakes, forgive yourself, and focus on moving forward. - Stay Connected: Engage with a supportive community or accountability partner. (That is where this group comes in! We are both a supportive community and an accountability partner...if you want us to be.)
