I recently applied for a position that required a resume AND a CV. Never heard of that before. I was always taught they are the same and a CV is most often used in medicine and academia. With the assistance of ChatGPT, I created a CV that I love that I may use for any future position that notes a CV as an acceptable document. What is the difference between a resume and CV?

Being on the East Coast, 6 p.m. PT is 9 p.m. ET. I'm usually in the car playing taxi with at least one of my kids heading home from one of their activities.
The Year You Graduate - Yes/No/Maybe?
Okay - here is one I thought of overnight: Assuming you list your education or training on your resume, do you put your YEAR of graduations/certifications/degrees (high school, trainings, trade schools, college or anything else) on your resume? Why or why not? (I am trying the POLL feature on this one!)

@Lorenzo Marchessi That's really interesting to me. I've never been asked in an interview when I graduated. Every online application I've completed the date fields are optional. I've been tempted to include the graduation date of my Masters because it is over a decade after I graduated with my undergrad. But haven't because I try to avoid any reference that would age me. Even though, if they look at work history, which I think we all include dates for, they can easily see roughly how long ago we entered the workforce and make some assumptions from there. If a firm wants to discriminate, they are going to find a way to do it.
๐Ÿ‘‹ Introduce Yourself
This community works best when we know who weโ€™re helping, so take 60 seconds and introduce yourself below ๐Ÿ‘‡ Share whatever youโ€™re comfortable with: - Name - Current role or student - What kind of job or industry youโ€™re aiming for - One thing youโ€™re hoping to improve or figure out No pressure to be perfect โ€” everyone here started somewhere. ๐Ÿ‘‰ Bonus:Reply to at least one other intro and say hi. Helping others is how real momentum starts (and it helps on the leaderboard ๐Ÿ˜‰). Iโ€™ll be jumping in, reading intros, and responding.Welcome to the start of something better ๐Ÿš€

Hi everyone, I'm Greg. I am an experienced nonprofit and association executive. I am passionate about growing the engagement, value proposition, and impact of the organizations I serve. I'm currently doing some consulting within the industry, but am actively looking to get back into an organization. I live in Central Maryland, conveniently located to Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia.
