𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙗𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙂𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙥 𝙂𝙤𝙡𝙙𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙚 How to Get Local SEO Clients Without Cold DMs or Paid Ads (Long read - Bonus at the End) If you’ve been trying to land local SEO clients by messaging business pages or running cold outreach campaigns… and getting crickets — it’s not just you. That stuff used to work. Now? It’s saturated, feels spammy, and honestly — it’s not where the real opportunities are. If you want a smarter, warmer, and way more effective way to book SEO clients, it’s time to start leveraging local Facebook groups. I’m talking: • Mom groups • Dad groups • Golf and hobby groups • Neighborhood watch groups • Community events or city news groups • “What’s happening in [Your City]” groups These groups are loaded with two things: 1. Local business owners (who are way more active here than on their business pages) 2. People who personally know local business owners — friends, family, customers, neighbors This is word-of-mouth marketing, amplified. Here’s the Playbook: Step 1: Join the Right Local Groups Spend 20 minutes searching for groups like: • “Moms of Austin” • “What’s happening in San Antonio” • “Corpus Christi Business & Community” • “[Your City] Garage Sales & Events” • “New Braunfels Dads Club” Join with your real profile, not a burner account. People buy from people — and Facebook’s all about social trust. Step 2: Be a Human, Not a Pitch Machine Don’t just drop your service like a billboard. Engage. Comment. Give value. Answer questions when people ask for help: “Anyone know a good roofer?” Comment: “I work with a few great ones and just helped one rank #1 in Google — I’d be happy to recommend someone or give a free website audit if it’s your business.” Be helpful, not salesy. Step 3: Make Value-Based Posts That Spark Referrals Instead of pitching, educate. Try a post like: “I just helped a local chiropractor go from Page 3 to Page 1 in Google and triple their inbound calls. Most small businesses have no idea how much traffic they’re missing just by not showing up. If you (or someone you know) owns a business and wants a quick free audit, I’m happy to do one!”

This is no joke. In 2020, I BOUGHT a local Facebook Group with the government's money. It had blown up overnight because of Covid, and the Owner didn't know what to do with it. He was happy to offload it and I was happy to take it over. To date, I have had over 2300 local businesses submit their information to me (including owner's name/cell/email) in order for them to be able to initiate a subscription for ongoing posting in our "Local City" FB Group. With right at 100 active subscriptions at any given time ranging from one time annual to multi-price monthly subs, and a nearly fully hands off model, I have built in credibility, ongoing residual income from the subs, and an open door for pitching other services.
