Monopolies are never a good idea. While having all your services from one integrated source seems convenient, when that entity puts corp greed ahead of individual/societal interests, bad things tend to happen. If you would put all you money in one investment, why would you trust one tech company to deliver all your services?
Just got certified as an AI Engineer
I just wanted to share the win here. I've been quiet here lately, but that's because I've been neck deep studying the Microsoft Azure learning path for the AI-102 exam. I took the exam today and passed it. Link to the exam and study materials if anyone else is interested: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/credentials/certifications/azure-ai-engineer/?practice-assessment-type=certification P.S. I've used Azure before for 2-3 years and considered myself proficient in it, but AI is new and it felt like learning Azure all over again. Very useful skill to have, imho.

Cost of Including Chat History In App Prompt to an AI Model
We know that LLMs are stateless. However, an AI needs context, some times from information already highlighted in a previous portion of the chat. Therefore, when building an App that interacts with an AI, it is recommended to keep track of the conversation, and provide some historical context to a prompt. This begs the following questions: 1. How do we decide the amount of adequate context? 2. Does the prompting program filter the conversation for context, and provide the relevant info as part of the prompt? 3. How does all this additional historical/contextual information affect the Token cost of the prompt? Has anyone had experience with escalating cost due to this? Please share how it was managed.

Youth Use of AI Companions:
According to a new study, nearly three-quarters of teenagers have interacted with AI companions, with one-third using these chatbots for social interactions. Experts are raising concerns about the implications for wellness and social development, as more teens rely on AI for problem-solving and support.

@Oriol Fort Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the topic, and giving me a clearer picture of your concerns. I do believe it takes a village to raise a child. This is something that is more prevalent in Asia than it is in the West. This is despite the prominence of community is some quarters of Western culture. The economic reality of today does force parents to want to do more to be able to afford a comfortable life. The reality of that is that the same people for whom they are sacrificing, are feeling abandoned. This is one place that the community (neighborhood, religious org, etc.) can step in and provide support. I apologize for going off on a tangent to the topic at hand.

@Pratik Kadam I am new at this, so, my input may not be too beneficial (technically speaking.) However, thank you for sharing. I am sure you have done your fair share of research to ensure that you have all your bases covered and factored in enough of a margin to catch some items that you have missed or may crop up during the project. All the best.
