@M. Dove Happy New Year!
Gold investment
What is your take on gold, silver and precious metals? Is it profitable and worth investing? How is it represented as a stock, bond, etf, mutual fund etc? Thanks

I have heard good things about investing in this area as well - so hopefully someone here will reply back who has experience in this. Thanks for posting this question!
Checking In
Hey all! Just wanted to see how everyone is doing. What are you working on? How's the investing journey going? What's the plan for the rest of the Summer? Also, here is a recent deep dive we had in FIA with an Estate Planner about Trust and Wills. I think everyone can benefit from this discussion, so I wanted to share with you all. Have a great rest of the week!

I never heard that I could save the receipts and submit them years later for reimbursement! I will have to dig into that a bit more - as I always thought you had about a year to submit - thanks!

WHAAAAAAT! (10 years later???) Now, I know. No more missing this opportunity - and I definitely don't know where those old receipts are. Do you know if you have to claim on your taxes - or if you can't claim on taxes if you plan to claim much later?
Financing new AC unit for rental house
Hello everybody. I need to buy a new AC unit for my rental property in Louisiana. What are some good options for financing this? I don’t have a large profit margin between mortgage and what the renters pay. I am looking at installment loans on Acorn, QuickBooks and home equity loans. Does anyone have experience with this? If so, what worked for you?

I have not had that experience before - but when I needed a short loan of money I have placed it on a NEW credit card that would not bill me for One year - which allowed me to pay monthly at my own speed before any interest hit. Just you have to know for sure that you can pay it off before the interest hits- I only did this when I knew I needed like 6 months to pay installments- but am given 1 year credit card interest free deal (just in case life goes crazy and I can’t pay for a few months) Hope that makes sense - GOOD LUCK! Hope you get more advice here. :)

yikes! Glad you were able to get installments and low payments. Any time you can add a bit extra to payments do so to help keep the interest low for future payments. Hang in there!
HYSA and taxes :)
That feeling you get when you finally understand the power of a HYSA and you also get the sign up bonus. Now - does anyone know if I will be sad when I have to file taxes?

The sad is me wondering if I need to report the "bonus" money I got for opening up the account and how that affects my taxes. Is it viewed as Income? A gift? Just "free-under-the-table-and-no-one-needs-to-know-money?
