HOT JULY MERICA 250 KICK OFF. (now in Classroom)
TOMORROW IS THE KICK OFF OF OUR HOT JULY 🇺🇸 "MERICA" 250-Mile Challenge: to RUN 8.06 Every Day 🇺🇸 AND for a majority of us..... HOT is an understatement! Any whoooo...... Happy Birthday “MERICA" Our goal is simple but demanding (EZPZ): All we have to run 8.06 miles every day for 31 days. Complete all 31 days and you’ll finish the month with approximately 250 miles. MASSIVE ACCOMPLISHMENT Challenge Parameters 1. Challenge Dates: July 1 – July 31 2. Daily Goal: Run 8.06 miles each day. 3. Monthly Goal: Reach a total of 250 miles by the end of July. 4. Eligible Activities: Running outdoors or on a treadmill. Walking miles do  count! 5. Tracking: Participants should log their miles daily using their preferred fitness app or tracker. Then Post on the ECRC Club Page. 6. Missed Days: If you miss a day, you may make up the mileage on another day as long as your total reaches 250 miles by July 31. 7. Rest & Recovery: Listen to your body. Proper hydration, nutrition, stretching, and recovery are strongly encouraged. 8. Honor System: This challenge is based on honesty and personal accountability. Log only the miles you actually complete. Challenge Motto “One day. One run. 8.06 miles. Repeat.” Why 8.06 Miles? - 8.06 miles × 31 days = 249.86 miles (rounded to 250 miles). - The challenge is designed to build consistency, endurance, and mental toughness throughout the month.

RUN ROULETTE is here...... "February Challenge" .... LFG!
🎰 RUN ROULETTE CHALLENGE Eat Cake Run Club….. Run Roulette is exactly what it sounds like: you don’t choose the miles… the MILES choose you. Every day is a gamble. Some days are light. Some days are spicy. All days are about showing up. 🌀 HOW IT WORKS - Every morning, we will ask Siri or Alexa to give a random number between 1 and 26 - Whatever number is given = that day’s required miles Example: Number is 5 → run 5 miles Number is 18 → run 18 miles Number is 26 → buckle up 😅 - Miles can be completed however you need: One run or multiple runs Outdoor or treadmill Run, jog, walk, shuffle—we don’t care how fast, just that you do the miles 👀 PLAY ALONG & EARN POINTS Then head to the Run Roulette Chat Post Thread. You can earn points in TWO ways: 1️⃣ Guess the Miles (1 Point) - Guess what the next day’s miles will be - Guesses must be posted before the daily miles are announced - Correct guess = 1 point 2️⃣ Run the Miles (1 Point) - Complete the exact miles required for that day - Post your run (screenshot, photo, or app log) - Complete the miles = 1 point 💡 You can earn 2 points in a single day if you: - Guess correctly and - Run the miles 🏆 PRIZES At the end of the month: - Points will be totaled - The member with the most points wins Winner receives: - 💵 $100 CASH - 👕 Exclusive, unreleased Eat Cake Run Club apparel (free) If there’s a tie, we’ll handle it the Eat Cake way (details announced if needed). 🎂 THE GOOD STUFF! - This challenge is about fun, consistency, and doing hard things - You are always encouraged to: Listen to your body Scale when needed Skip a day if life or health requires it Run Roulette is here… LETS GOOO!

Who else drank the Altra Koolaid only to relegate 4 pairs to their work shoe rotation? I wanted to love them on the trail… turns out I only love them in the school hallways and classrooms.

I love my altras! Lone peaks are my daily shoes, and the Olympus 275 are my new favorite trail shoes. However, I live close to an outlet store so I don't buy any of them at full price which definitely helps. They haven't been the longest lasting shoes I've owned but they sure fit my feet nicely.
Summer BIG RUN ? What is that for you... Monday Morning Conversations
Monday Morning Conversation – What’s Your Big Run This Summer? It’s already February. Let that sink in for a second. We blink, and it’ll be July 4th. The question is — are WE going to be ready? What do you have planned for your Big Run this summer? Is it a marathon? An ultra? A triathlon? A destination race? Your first 5K? A comeback season? Or maybe something that scares you just enough to make your heart beat a little faster when you think about it? Drop it in the comments. Claim it. Say it out loud. SO, What is the Plan? If you have a big run on the calendar, tell us: - What race or challenge are you training for? - Are you following a structured training plan? - How many weeks out are you? - What’s your biggest hurdle right now — endurance, pace, consistency, recovery, mindset? And most importantly — what are you doing to stay motivated? The truth is … motivation fades. It’s discipline, routine, and community that carry us through the cold mornings and the tired legs. What habits are you building right now that July-you will thank you for? Are you strength training? Dialing in nutrition? Prioritizing sleep? Getting your long runs done no matter what? Most important is... How Can We Support You? Eat Cake Run Club isn’t just about logging miles. It’s about showing up for each other. Tell us how we can support you: - Do you need accountability? - Pace partners? - Long run encouragement? - Nutrition advice? - Someone to remind you that you’re capable on the hard days? We want to celebrate your milestones. Your first 10-miler. Your longest week ever. Your breakthrough run. Your race-day PR. Let’s make noise for each other. And If You Don’t Have a Big Run Planned… It’s not too late. Seriously. February is the launch pad. There is plenty of time to build. Plenty of time to get stronger. Plenty of time to surprise yourself. You don’t need to be “ready” to start — you just need to start. Pick something that stretches you. Something that requires growth. Something that makes you commit.

Bears Ears 30k end of June. Then Moab 240 in October. I have no training plan currently other than spend a lot of time on my feet and start doing some overnight long walks to be moving when sleepy. Also all the vert work once the trails dry out ⛰️
