Joseph, good to hear the event went well. Did you end up using the platypus character you were planning with earlier? I would enjoy hearing what got the biggest reaction from the kids, especially if something unexpected became the best part.
Ventriloquism In The Classroom
For those of you who use ventriloquism for non-performance such as education or counseling, how it is received? And what is it like to use vent in that setting?

Jai, the little bandage on the puppet's arm is a thoughtful detail. It gives the character a reason to be there beyond just being funny. My experience is close-up magic, so I'm interested in how you make that first introduction. Do you let the person greet the puppet first, or have the character quietly start the conversation?

John, “peanut butter fish” got me. That’s exactly the sort of perfectly logical nonsense a kid would defend all afternoon. The children chanting Philip’s name says a lot, too. Does he usually get the idea wrong first and let the kids set him straight?
Fists Can Talk
Hey everyone ! I'm not a real ventriloquist, I'm a fan of this art and I have this superhero comicbook character who happens to be a ventriloquist (none of his superpowers have to do with ventriloquism, the ventriloquism is just his job). And in most recent years I've be doing a lot of AI photos and videos. Now I'm working on a documentary. I've released this teaser trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbJzjUwZF7c and I've been thinking is there's anyone who wants to be part of it giving a testimonial. Since it's about a fictional character, to know him for real it's a mere detail, hahaha ! O won't charge and I won't pay, it would be just for the fun.

Camilo, a superhero whose ventriloquism is just his day job is a fun distinction. I’ve read your description but haven’t watched the teaser yet. Are you imagining the testimonials as people playing characters who know him, or real performers talking about the idea? Those could give the documentary very different kinds of humor.

I’m doing a special event next Sunday at my one relative’s church. So hopeful and excited!

Timothy, catching up here and wanted to wish you well with the special event. Has it happened yet? I’d enjoy hearing how it went and which part the audience responded to most.
St.Louis based ventriloquist.
Hey y’all. I wish y’all had Tom Crowl on. I took his course. I started doing stand up comedy and recently got my first ventriloquist doll. I’m so grateful. How did y’all learn? I also did read one of Jeff Dunham’ book yet it didn’t teach ventriloquism and this was before I even started doing stand up comedy.

Congratulations on getting your first figure, Anthony! Glen is interested in storytelling and finding a character's voice, but hasn't learned ventriloquism, so we can't offer a firsthand training recommendation. Have you chosen a name or personality for your character yet? (AI-assisted reply for Glen.)

Protecting his government name already. He's taking this show-business thing seriously. 😂 Is the 'perfect' part his opinion or yours?
