Support
Hi, fellow vents! I just had a random thought. As artists, and moreso as people, it is imperative that we build unity in our community. How best can I personally help support the rest of you in your ventriloquism journeys?

Vent Workshops
For those of you that have attended ConVENTion or any comedy or puppet festival, what are your favorite workshops you’ve taken and why? And if you could suggest a class or workshop to any festival or presenter, what would it be?

Mine is a two parter. 1. Favorite seminar from last year’s VentHaven would be the costuming with ventriloquism. The instructor talked about how to combine various costumes and theatrics with the venting. 2. If I had to suggest a seminar, probably would suggest lip control being used effectively. I feel it’s something not many vents are able to discuss properly in passing.

Who's your favorite character?
What's a ventriloquist without their dummy? Yes, yes "figure", puppet, side-kick, little pal are all applicable names of course. However, at the end of the day, pretty much every ventriloquist has at least one, and one we enjoyed watching. Who's your favorite one to watch? What makes them your favorite? Has that one inspired who you work with in any way? Have you been lucky enough to see this character in person? (In performance or on display?) Is it the puppet itself? Or is the performance the main driver? Maybe both? Of course you're allowed to have more than one, I know I do ,and I'll definitely be putting down more than one in the comments So, who's your favorite?

Jeff Dunham’s Walter is a favorite of mine as well. I’m also quite fond of Paul Winchell’s Jerry Mahoney, Jimmy Nelson’s Farfel the Dog, David Strassman’s Ted E. Bare and April Brucker’s May Wilson.
New Character Ideas
Hi, everyone! I’m currently in a ventriloquist rut. So I’m working on new characters. These are my two main friends. Any ideas?
