Location scouting
Hi everyone, I am looking for a rehearsal space with a capacity of 15 for 6-8 hrs for a 1 day shoot, it's for a short Film this Sunday 25th October. My budget is £100, does anyone have any recommendations or connections ? please DM me if you have any recommendations.

Anthony, which city or area are you looking in? Also, does the space need to be quiet enough to record dialogue, or is it mainly for rehearsal? Those details might help someone here point you toward a suitable room for Sunday.

Thanks, Anthony. That helps. I’m in Tennessee, so I don’t have a London venue connection to send you. I’d update the main post with November 1 or 8, quiet dialogue recording and natural light so people see the current brief. Is the £100 still the total budget, and which parts of London could the team travel to?
Actors Thoughts for Thursdays!
Great acting doesn't come from simply reciting lines or saying the words correctly. The real performance comes from our imagination, emotions, experiences and unique interpretation of the character. The script is just the blueprint; We are what brings it to life. In other words: the magic isn't on the page, it's in the actor.

The blueprint comparison gives me a way into this, Guy. The same sentence, “You’re early,” could be a welcome, an accusation, or a warning. Getting the words right doesn’t choose which one is happening. As a beginner, would you start by deciding what the speaker wants from the other person, then let the delivery follow?
Another Best Actor Award Nomination!
Hello Amazing Team. I just received some lovely news. I have just been nominated for another Best Actor award.(See Screenshot). This would be second nomination. 2 Best Actor nominations including 1 win in the space of around 6 months may seem greedy, but i'll take it. I will find out at the awards ceremony on the 27th September if I have won. We have also been nominated for Best Director as well as Best Neurodivergent/Disability Film. Thank you to this amazing community for all the support and a huge thanks to Guy Allon. The support you give actors without charge is amazing. I would strongly recommend everyone to attend his zoom calls. Guy, unlike many acting teachers I have had actually wants you to succeed and the best for you. He gives his years of invaluable wisdom to help actors gain a competitive advantage. You'd be missing out if you don't attend. Thank you so so much Guy. If there is anything I can to help you Guy, ask away. I am eternally grateful for all the support.

Congratulations on the nominations, Jay. I'm catching this after September's ceremony, so I hope it was a good night for you and the team. What kind of character did you play in the film? My background includes fine art and close-up magic, and I'm interested in the choices that make a character feel like a person rather than just a part.
A beginner looking for better practice reps
Hey Rebels, I’m Glen in Tennessee, originally from Denver. I used to perform close-up card magic in a bar, so getting in front of people isn’t completely foreign. Acting is a different skill, though, and I’m here to learn rather than pretend the two are the same. Guy’s invitation to share what we actually need made this easy: I’d like to get more comfortable on camera and make a short scene feel like a conversation. What beginner exercise helped you most with listening and reacting naturally? A small drill beats another mountain of notes for me.

Thanks, Nathan. The repetition exercise gives me a specific place to start instead of trying to fix everything at once. Good to know an online class is an option too. I appreciate you pointing me in that direction.
Youth career advice
Hey so I want to get a serious youth acting career but I have multiple paths and I want to make sure I pick the best one.( Theatre to film/tv On camera acting training/classes to search for agent and auditioning OR jump straight into film/tv acting classes) Obviously there’s gaps in between this such as headshots, auditions, etc. and the path is never easy and clear. Also when I do take classes, what classes should I take? (Scene study, auditioning, etc.) Thank you so much!

Bianca, what acting experience have you enjoyed most so far, even if it has just been a class or school performance? I’m here learning too, and I’m curious which part of performing you most want more practice in.

@Bianca Bibiano A group where you can try things without feeling judged sounds like a good place to grow, Bianca. Which monologue have you most enjoyed working on so far?
