Hair Days
I was listening to a chat on the radio about hair. The women being interviewed had created a range of products to help women eliminate ‘bad hair days’. She said that the state of a woman’s hair can have a negative impact on her life. Now, I’ve had family members and friends who have lost their hair during illness so I am deeply aware of the impact that causes. But can a ‘bad hair day’ damage your mental health? Can a good hair day’ make you happier? I’m genuinely curious about this. I have hair. It gets washed and brushed and cut as necessary, but it has never affected my mood in any way. So I’m wondering, does your hair matter enough to be able to dictate how your day goes? I’m with horses and dogs and other creatures - oblivious 😜

To me no, my hair is there, I brush it and dye the greys. But I do know a lot of people who would express their feelings via their hair, often unconsciously. I suppose hair care is self care and if you don’t feel like caring for yourself then your hair suffers. Or that’s maybe how that manifests in some people?
IT MUST BE LOVE?
In the past few days, I’ve been speaking to two people under very different circumstances – one online and one in person – who told me that they don’t like horses! Both had been physically hurt by a horse many years ago, and that experience turned them off from ever coming close to one again - forever. I’ve been involved with horses for well over 50 years. In that time, I’ve been bucked off, walked on, kicked, bitten, and knocked over. At separate times, I’ve broken a few bones, needed stitches and clocked up more bruises than I could ever count. And yet, it never crossed my mind to not like horses. The Paralympic Games are underway at the moment, and I will be watching the Equestrian. It amazed me last time to learn how many of the riders used to be able-bodied until an accident off a horse changed their lives. So, my question is, how do we explain that to the people who told me they don’t like horses because they were hurt once? What is it about horses that keeps drawing us back? Are horse people just a different breed or is there something addictive about horses? Can you define it?

@Tracey Edwards for sure, I’m speaking on a more personal level than professional. I always keep my own opinions to myself when working. Generally in my personal life if someone doesn’t like my dog/horse and my dog/horse doesn’t like them, there is a reason. Which I find so fascinating about how animals know and can sense things.

@Tracey Edwards my horse, Bella, is known as “the Humbler” if anyone comes to her with an inflated sense of ego, she immediately takes them down a peg. It’s amazing how animals just know
My Weekend
This weekend involved some working, some walking, and a lot of hanging out with a two-year old 😊 All very grounding practices 😍 How did you spend your time?

I spent mine teaching and facilitating therapeutic sessions. Got to ride my horse (who was extremely dramatic about some pink blocks). But also got to think about what I want out of my business and what I want to start planning to do

@Eileen Bennett I’m the type that’s always planning, so fingers crossed it all kicks off
WHAT’S YOUR YARD SUPERPOWER?
Is there one yard job that you know you’re exceptionally good at? Even if you do all the jobs below every day, choose the one where you really shine 😊 The one where you stand back with a satisfied smile to admire your handiwork 😊 The one nobody else can do to your standard? What are you Queen or King of around the yard? Don’t be shy 😊

I love mucking out, getting the beds even and the banks the same level, and making sure it’s all uniform
HOW’S YOUR HORSEPOWER ?
Quick check-in 😊 If your current energy level was a horse, which one would it be? There are no wrong answers. Energy naturally ebbs and flows. Where are you today? And more importantly… what might help you move one step closer to the energy you you’d like to have?

Definitely feel like the half dead schoolie that is just going through the motions right now. One foot in front of the other
