George Hamm and I live outside of Charlotte at Mountain Island Lake. I have a beautiful wife that is a breast cancer survivor and two wonderful daughters. I have been in the technology industry for 30+ years and have served as an individual contributor as well as leadership roles focusing on customer success. I love live music and any activity that takes me outdoors.
Trusting Again When It Doesn’t Make Sense
Luke 5:1-11 reads like a leadership story more than a miracle story. Peter was worn down. All night on the water. Experience, effort, discipline. Nothing to show for it. Then Jesus asked him to try again. Same boat. Same nets. Worse timing. Every business instinct pushed back. Peter said what any leader would say. We already tried. Then he chose trust over logic. Because you say so. That decision shifted everything. The nets filled past capacity. Partners rushed in. Boats strained under the weight. Obedience led to a result too big to manage alone. That detail matters. God did not reward hustle. He honored trust. The outcome created value beyond one person. This is where faith meets leadership. In business, trust often shows up after frustration. After effort runs dry. After experience argues against one more attempt. So pause and ask yourself. Where is God asking you to try again, not because it makes sense, but because He said so? Sometimes obedience leads to a bigger catch than you expected.
