A solo date is brave and cool. How did it go? Nice outfit btw.
Coastal Country
Too windy. Too cloudy. Beach plans officially vetoed by Mother Nature. But quitting on style? That’s not very South Texas of me. So instead, I leaned fully into the South Texas gentleman aesthetic—because if the sun won’t show up, I will. I’ve got my well-loved brown Lucchese cowboy boots on the ground, crisp blue jeans doing what they do best, and a classic black tee holding down the fort under a rich brown corduroy Levi’s pearl snap. Effortlessly cool, with just enough “I know a good taco spot” energy. Topping it off is my wide-brimmed brown Stetson—equal parts shade, swagger, and “yes ma’am.” On the wrist, the Casio G-Shock Mudmaster GG-B100 (the olive green strap, because details matter). Tough enough for the brush, the bar, or whatever South Texas throws my way. Finished the look with a hit of Infrared Spicebomb—because even cloudy days deserve a little heat. All together, it’s an outfit that says I’m ready for anything: a cold beer on the island, a surprise two-step under palm trees, or just standing my ground against coastal wind like a true South Texan should. P. S. If looks as if I’m hanging from an iron-linked steel chain pardon my lovely wife who still hasn’t caught on how to correctly frame a photo.

A Case Study in Casual Authority
Today’s look is a masterclass in “effortlessly put-together with a wink.” The navy blazer does the heavy lifting—sharp, confident, and clearly aware of its responsibilities—while the open-collar white shirt keeps things relaxed, like it already knows the meeting will end early. The grey trousers play the role of dependable supporting actor: tailored, calm, and not trying to steal the scene. Then come the brown Allen Edmond leather shoes, polished enough to suggest ambition but broken in enough to imply wisdom. Bonus points for the blue socks quietly peeking out—just enough personality to signal that rules are understood… and selectively bent. On the wrist, the Alpina chronograph says, “Yes, I value precision,” while also hinting that timing is relative when you look this good. And the Gucci Guilty fragrance? That’s the invisible accessory—doing what it does best: arriving before you and lingering after. Overall vibe: confident, seasoned, and stylish without shouting about it.The kind of outfit that doesn’t chase attention—attention just eventually catches up.

Adding a tie for the evening.
Channeling my inner @Brian McGuire tonight. Or at least listening to his voice in my head 😜 Yesterday he had made a post about wearing a tie. I had already thought about wearing a tie out to dinner this evening with my wife while we’re away in the city for a day or two. I do enjoy wearing a tie just don’t get the occasion as much as I would like. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
