Mushrooms?
Too far outside of carnivore? Mushroom powder in your coffee? I was just watching a show where they were growing lion’s mane mushrooms for dried powder and so I had to look it up. They tout all sorts of health benefits with very little/no carb additions - so what’s the downside? Do they contain toxins that counteract all the good in our carnivore diets? So many questions are swirling in my head. I like a good morel in the spring with my steak and butter but they are fleeting and rare. I haven’t done much research into it. Anyone have an experience with mushrooms? Also, though I’m pretty brave, I’m not a mushroom forager type - too many look-a-likes that will give you proper stomach issues so I’d probably just buy some from a reputable knowledgeable source. I do see nature’s ecosystem as a source of potential medicine though so where do things like mushrooms fit in?

Hypothyroidism
@Stephen Thomas why do you think that a small amount of people who adopt a zero/low carb carnivore lifestyle that they can see thyroid issues being that of either no improvement in previous hypothyroidism or the lowering of serum t3 along with signs and symptoms of a under active thyroid. A lot of experts have the stance that carbs are needed for the conversion of t4 to t3 but if that was the case it would be a wide spread issue for those following this way of eating but instead the majority see improvements in thyroid conditions

Bart kay suggests consuming 160g protein in one sitting to bump insulin a tiny amount once per day. I can't remember what the reasoning was so ill try to find a link

@Phil Richardson thanks I'm trying this variant next time. Fed it into my fatness pal to see how many of those mythical calories it might yield if I burnt it in a calorimeter. And this is his DAILY version. Imagine telling someone doing a weight watchers diet plan what you were intending to eat. I think they might faint. But damn he looks healthy, lean and mean right, at nearly 70 :0
@Phil Richardson so much about the diet is freeing , meal prep and shopping simplicity , no feeling over full as it's nutrient dense and satiating , no absurd hunger pangs and panic to arrange the next meal, no irritating ebb and flow of energy levels, no joint pain , no Dom's , no mental anxiety from eating things my body didn't really like me consuming ...and on and on it goes
