SCAM ALERT 🔴 FREIDA MCFADDEN
⚠️ I am thinking about locking this group down to PAID because I keep seeing the same kind of scam happen over and over again. People enter the community posing as high profile authors to try to gain your trust and win your business. As you can see 3 different accounts i've had to ban over time from scammers / spammers trying to sneak in and take advantage of this community. How do they get in? Most of the time when they apply to join they have the HIGH RISK flagged to them and I immediately DENY, but they are getting smarter to the spam and catching on. They apply under the name of SOMEONE ELSE then once they get in they update their display name to show whatever author they are trying to impersonate. ➡️ Do you think a paywall would be the right solution to avoid this? ⁉️ What do you think would be a fair rate to access the community for new members? **No changes are happening right now but I've been thinking a lot about this recently to better protect the community and my SANITY. 😆

If You Received a $10k Royalty Check...
💰 Hypothetical Question... If Amazon dropped a $10,000 royalty check into your bank account this month from your books, what would you do with it? Would you: 📚 Reinvest it into publishing more books? ✈️ Take a dream vacation? 💳 Pay off debt? 🏡 Put it toward a home project? 📈 Invest it for the future? 👨‍👩‍👧 Spend more time with family? One of the things I love about publishing is that every book can become a digital asset that continues working long after you've finished writing it. So tell me... What's the first thing you'd do with a $10,000 royalty check?

Powerful AI Prompt to Edit Your Book
For those of you who don't have the budget to hire a professional editor. You are going to be really impressed with this AI prompt I just developed and tested. This is literally going to give you all the feedback you need. Just make sure you do it chapter by chapter for best results!! 👇 PROMPT👇 I would like you to act as an experienced developmental editor, book coach, and professional reviewer. Analyze the chapter provided below and give honest, constructive feedback that will help improve the overall quality of the book. Consider the intended audience, the author's goals, and the reader experience throughout your analysis. Begin by providing a brief summary of the chapter and what you believe the author is trying to accomplish. Then evaluate how effectively the chapter delivers on that objective. Discuss the overall clarity of the writing, whether the ideas are easy to understand, and identify any areas that may confuse readers or require additional explanation. Next, analyze the structure and flow of the chapter. Evaluate whether the information is presented in a logical sequence and whether transitions between sections feel natural. Identify any sections that feel out of place, repetitive, rushed, or unnecessarily long. Assess reader engagement throughout the chapter. Point out specific areas where readers are likely to remain interested and areas where they may lose attention. If applicable, suggest where additional stories, examples, case studies, exercises, or personal experiences could strengthen the content and make it more memorable. Review the author's tone and voice. Determine whether the tone is appropriate for the target audience and whether the author's voice remains consistent throughout the chapter. Highlight any sections where the writing feels particularly strong or where the voice could be improved. From the perspective of a reader, identify any unanswered questions that remain after finishing the chapter. Note any concepts that need further clarification, expansion, or supporting evidence.

Book-One-of-The-Wide-Sky-Series
I have just written a series of 6 books, I lack the confidence to publish them as the genre is probably a bit of a challenge. They are really a re-interpretation of my own journals it outlines my lifelong question about my relationship with the Church and the world. It is fiction, but it pick up all my challenges. I have put 2 drafts into Notion but lacking confidence in publishing. I also worry it may be boring! ✴️ Book One of The Wide Sky Series

@Al Anderson yes, one of my favorite books... I grew up on a blend of UK and US authors.... when I was 16 I read Gone with the wind, because it was banned in South Africa. I read the book over a period where I was recuperating from a venomous snake bite. It was one of the best reads I ever had, but it did get me to read other US authors. I then started reading fiction mostly from Readers digest, they were just right, one book a day. After the army I was only interested in Business and wildlife books and I made a habit of journaling. Then when I married Janet, her parents expected me to be one of them, so I started really getting into Church Theology, however it did not work. We ended up going separate ways. Another story, another day.
