DANGERS OF CHEAP GOALKEEPER GLOVES 🧤
Guys, like anyone, I love a good bargain, but i wrote this quick article about the dangers of buying cheap goalkeeper gloves. Especially direct from Chinese suppliers, who have zero idea what a goalkeepers needs... especially the protection the keeper needs from the palm of the gloves. You can read full article here (5 minute read) https://j4ksports.com/blogs/default-blog/cheap-goalkeeper-gloves-for-children

@Nathan Hallwood if they were that bad, review truthfully if you believe in this article. When my son started in goal, I would buy gloves based on the number of rating and the number of stars. Now we are a bit more aware, I know what I am looking for.
Shinpads
There has been a lot of talk recently about what shinpads everyone prefers and I just had some deco atti sleeved ones arrive! I won them in a giveaway hosted by @Dean White which is pretty cool - I actually think they are planning on doing a J4K giveaway in the future! 👏 I’ll let you know my thoughts once I wear them - first thoughts are that they feel very comfortable and offer good protection - definitely much better than those tiny ones the pros wear 🤣

I agree better than the tiny pads, but as a referee the shin pads simular to those you have pictured that I have come across, do not offer as much protection as shin pad probably needs to. At lower youth level u13's below you will probably get away with it, but as impact becomes stronger, more forceful and maybe with more malice and less control, these types of pads in my opinion would provide adequate protection.

@Emily Hart as I say up to a certain level they have their place, but in senior football they are no more than just a cushion sat on the shin (might be the ones that I have seen), easily protect from a light kick, knock or coming together. But I don't feel the protection is as adequate for a crunching mistimed forceful tackle.
WHAT DO YOU THINK GUYS - TOO MUCH ?
for the keepers thinking about developing their own goalkeeper gloves one day... here is more behind the scened for you. We might go some with some crazy colours next season... but what do you think of attached too much ? or nowhere near as crazy as they should be 😀

My son loves the colours, given them personality. Everyone says keepers are built different, so are these gloves.
School Holiday Clubs / Training
During School breaks do any of you attend a Goalkeeper Class, Holiday Club or similar. In Chesterfield there are several from one's run by Chesterfield FC, Local Sporting Clubs like Samba or Qualitas to the local Personal Goalkeeper Coach's that run a 2 hour session with 30 minute warms ups, 30 minutes of technical training and a full hour Goalkeeper Wars to finish. Please share where you in the Country/world are and what types of sessions are available where you are. Maybe some people might be interested (Weather Permitting) To add a bit of colour to the post here is an AI version of our U9 Sunday side

I have no personal stake in any holiday camp or coaching scheme, but are we aloud to promote/mention GK training camps etc on this platform (want to know the rules)? Just asking as my son attends some great GK sessions and, has his first specific GK camp this half-term.
