I belive N.Tesla wanted to replicate this idea with the Tesla Towers, making the entire planet into a sphere where the signal from one tower is multiplied and can be received to any point of the surface tnesion. In this way the Earth is like a conductor which is hyperconductive and emit the power or the signal in all directions at ones. This is also the main idea behind the Spherical Space Time Antenna.
