Little & Long Post about Meditation, Yoga, Music, Fitness, Tai Chi and just about everything else [Any questions please ask…
I do meditate, not always like a Zen monk with legs crossed in a temple in Tibet or in the mountains, but I certainly do meditate on the breath, and work on focusing the attention, the masters call this watching the thinker, the mind and the thoughts will always wonder, it is the meditator or the Yogi who has to bring their attention back to the breath, all life begins with the first breath and ends with the last breath! We are taught that the relaxation is in the exhalation, one of the great Buddhist teachings was, imagine when you go to sleep that you will not wake up and if you do rejoice and be grateful for a new day, if you live like every day is your last, you will have consistently great days, you will have humility and have gratitude for all of your opportunities! I never trained as a yoga instructor, but I did work in the fitness industry and I was a passionate group fitness instructor, at the time personal training was a competitive industry and the 15+ other instructors I worked with oversaturated the potential clients available, at that time I made the decision to switch back to performing live music as a vocal entertainer! Music was always my first Love, I would always go back to it, and it doesn’t matter whether you are being paid to do it or not, if it is your passion it is where you find your joy, your expression, and your release, it often heals us when we reconnect with ourselves, music, art and self expression helps us do this. Although we cannot only do what we are passionate about and what we love, we have to work and earn a living, this is our human condition. I especially like the idea of the Ikigai guy, which is the Japanese philosophy as a way of living. It essentially has four quadrants. 1) do what you love and are passionate about. 2) provide something that the world needs and share it.. 3) find a service that you can offer and be paid for. 4) explore something you’re really good at and do that as well. It is a great gift to be able to spend time doing what you love and are passionate about, it is an even greater gift to be able to share it with others and the synthesis of the two is perhaps the greatest gift of all!

Hey Piano Tribers, if you’d like to get involved and have a go yourself, here’s the task again! P.S. remember you will get out of it what you put into it, a byproduct of this is you help yourself and you help others… can’t wait to hear from you all! Here’s the four quadrants of the Ikigai: Have a go! Nothing to lose! It’s all upside from here! The first step is the hardest, just like the old adage, ‘ the first cut is the deepest’, the first time you try anything it’s hard, unless you were born with superpowers, I’m pretty sure I wasn’t! Do you remember when you first learn to crawl and then learn to stand? Did you fall over 50+ times? When I learn to ride a bike, I kept falling off, I had to ride with stabilises, but I didn’t like them, I wanted to really ride by myself, how did I master it? Determination. If there’s a step you’ve been avoiding, take that step today! Be courageous! 1.What do you love to do? 2.What does the world need from you? 3.What can you be paid for? 4.What are you good at?

Worth the watch. Let me know your thoughts when you do. What we are all about in here, in the tribe - Joy Zone - and getting into it often… until it becomes a habit. Cuz Joy Zone is a powerful place to be in and makes you show up everywhere - better, at your best! Get out of your head and follow your heart!

@Paul Longley was not expecting to be gifted with that yesterday, thank you Ro @Rositsa Aleksandrova for sharing this, and then it came up on my Instagram feed, and because I watched it twice, I was able to comment delivering more value with insight and authority, let’s go 🚀
💚🤣💕 I redid our banner 🤣 it’s so happy screaming 🤣🤗🥰🍉 yes?!
I also changed the name on it to reflect our name lol It was saying before Piano Tribe (until today). And our icon is changed also, as per your votes - the majority voted for the headphones so that is it now :) Oh, I opened up postings for level ones… so new people can immediately post their intro posts in the intro category 🫶 I believe if we get any bots/scammers we are pretty trained to handle them accordingly real quick!! Yes? Sharing photos below of the new banner and logo/icon (w the headphones) that we all picked together! Next step - reworking that classroom! Planning to lock EVERYTHING for lower levels (1 & 2) so that we can reduce overwhelm and increase productivity, as I am getting ready to slap a bunch more content in there. What do you think?

An improvised song I once “wrote”
When I recorded my album “Mind’s Eye”, over 10 yrs ago, a lot of the parts I recorded, like instrumental parts, were made up on the spot. However, while most of the songs were written prior to recording, in some way shape or form, this one idea that I truly wanted to record was this one line chorus “One foot infront of the other!” That’s all I had. I was not even improvising many lyrics to it at first! I’d play the thumb piano when jamming with the ideas also, which was later used as the main instrument in the song! When it came time to recording the first tracks for the songs, namely the drum tracks, the song One Foot still didn’t have any real form.. just one line and a groove! For me, the process that unfolded was such an experience of trusting the moment and letting things truly happen! So the drummer could record the drums to the song we didn’t even have yet, I jammed along on the keys while we recorded the “song”! We had no idea where we were going! I would sing random words and put in the chorus line one foot…We just had fun! While we were playing, the drummer suddenly stopped playing, thinking it would be the end! I was a bit surprised but then said “keep going, come back into it” and he did! Later, I added in the other vocals and instruments, apart from bass. It was all improvised from there on! I hope when you hear this recording, that you hear a freedom and a playfulness that happens when you create music on the spot! Sometimes, music does not want to be controlled or manipulated the way we want it to be! Sometimes, it just wants to be free to be!!! Even if it goes against all reason or convention😝

TikTok Collab Highlight of 2025: Bethany Bell. Challenge: On-spot arranging in real time.
Since every one of these is shorter than a minute, I thought I'd bless you with all 4 collabs. One of the beautiful things about these clips is my ability to listen and harmonize on the spot to even the shortest portion of a song, make 13 sec. sound as full and harmoniously sound as a full 180 sec. (3 min.) It also challenges my arranging abilities. Sometimes, I have no reference to go off of, so I have to woodshed something that works cohesively (the first 2 clips) Other times, a close-enough accuracy to the original is required, so I'll look up the song, listen, and improvise my arrangement by ear to achieve as close of a match as possible (the last 2 clips). The first is a short portion of One of her originals from 2024, the rest are 2025 micro-covers.

Beautiful music man Dovihon, I believe you could create some beautiful harmony for a backing track, and sing a lead over the top, There is a beautiful collection of this music in the style and genre of doo-wop which emerged in the 1940s and 1950s, it’s especially poignant and soul stirring because it is created solely with the human voice and no other instrumentation, for some reason I had the song “you raise me up’ come into consciousness while I was listening to your performances!, I hope that serves as inspiration, here’s a few more songs to inspire, perhaps you will like them to, ‘something inside so strong’ and ‘the prayer’. 🎤🎶🤗
