SOTD: Mancera Vetiver Sensuel
Good day brothers! Last decant to vanish is Mancera Vetiver Sensuel. This one came up very frequently as a great vetiver-based, citrus freshie from Mancera. It peaked my curiosity becaues I'm a fan of citrus fragrances, but not so much of heavy vetiver ones. Having Vetiver in the name, I was giving it 50/50 chance. There's this interesting link I find between the pepper in the opening, the greeness of the patchoulli (not an earthy, dirty one to my nose) and mint in the mid, and vetiver in the base. Not sure how to explain it, but those three come up as if they were linked... the pepper transitioning into the greenness directly, which directly paves the way into the vetiver. They form the spine of the fragrance, so to speak, guiding the rest of the notes throughout the scents lifecycle. Hope that makes sense. The opening is of course, a very nice and refreshing citrus blast. Delicious, with that very clear, albeit in the background, spiciness of the pepper. Love the opening very much. The mid I can define when the fragrance becomes that greener version of itself, and although the citruses move into the background, I find them prominently still there. Thankfully, as I really like that profile in this fragrance. When final drying down, the citruses are still there to be noted, but more of a reminder, than a full profile. This is my least favorite part of the fragrance, as of course, it becomes rather vetiver-heavy. However, the slight ambery feel, accompanying what's left of the cituses, avoids the scent becoming too vetiver-heavy for me. Not saying they smell alike, but upon drydown, it gives Hermes TdH Eau Givree vibes. Performance is great, as usual with Mancera fragrances. Especially for a citrusy fragrance. Easy 1-2 hours of above average proyection and sillage, with it staying on me clearly for another 4-5 hours. Afterwards, it remains as a clear skin scent. I usually get some weird "powderiness" from many/most Mancera fragrances, that although not offensive, usually is not a part of them I like. The Mancera powder I call it. I do NOT get that Mancera powder out of this one, which further allows me to enjoy it.
