Capital One & Chase "ID Wall" / Non-Resident Business Credit Strategy
Hi everyone, Building business credit for my US LLC (Non-Resident) and just hit a roadblock. Looking for data points on how to pivot. The Situation: • Capital One Platinum: Stuck on a generic "Sorry" error. Received a letter for Identity Verification (ID/Driver's License) but it explicitly says: "DO NOT SEND PASSPORT." • Chase Business: I have a Business Checking account with a 5-figure balance, but it’s only 2 months old. Applied for a Business Ink and got a rejection. • Current Progress: I already have a Fizz card and an ITIN, trying to build a solid score. The Conflict: As a non-resident, my Passport is my primary ID. Capital One seems to be a "wall" without a US Driver's License. Chase also seems to want more "seasoning" despite the high balance. Questions: 1. Has any non-resident bypassed the Capital One "No Passport" rule recently? 2. For Chase, is the 2-month history the main issue, or is it the lack of a personal FICO score? 3. Should I just pivot to Amex Business now since they are more Passport/ITIN friendly? Would appreciate any advice from those who navigated this without a US ID.
