Live Streamed Lessons Start 5pm Tuesday 12th May
12th May; A Seascape Painting From Tuesday 12th May I will be streaming every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Each streamed lesson will be dependant on subject but will aim to be approximately one hour long. All lessons will be recorded and available to rewatch. As many of you know it’s been a difficult year with my health so far. The good news is my fractured skull is healing as is the brain bleed I had. Not so good news is the damage to the front of my brain from falling is still effecting me however this I feel is manageable so long as don’t over stretch myself. Recovery from the heart operation, my heart being the main course of all this disruption, is also going well hence my return to teaching and making tutorial videos. I truly hope all this medical stuff is behind me now and really look forward to getting back into the recording studio again. Hope to see you in class on the 12th Regards Martin

Intro
Hi Oil Academy people, thanks for creating this platform Martin and I look forward to being part of this oil painting adventure. I love creating and have enjoyed watercolour, pastels and acrylic but now that I’m painting in oils it’s really my fav.

Thanks, I have a few questions about cleaning brushes and what oil mediums you for a faster dry time - look forward to meeting you in class And seeking your book

@Martin Close wow thanks I’ll give this a try 😁
I’m almost back 🙏
Well it’s been quite an interesting few months and time for a positive update. So what happened ? 3 months ago I passed out and as I fell I fractured my skull and ended up with a brain bleed and damage to the front of the brain. 😞 After many tests I found out my heart was stopping for 6 to 8 seconds multiple times during the day and night. It was this that coursed me to blackout all those months ago. So to fix this I had minor heart surgery 4 weeks ago. Good news is I should now be well enough to get back into the studio and again do live streaming from Wednesday 13th May fingers crossed. I’m really sorry about all this but I’m almost back in the studio and will look forward to seeing you all soon. Regards Martin

Martin that was a serious health issue and very glad they were able to find the cause and you’re almost back and ready to go! Well nearly there 🧑‍🎨 Looking forward to the 13th 🤞 but don’t stress if you’re not quite up to it!
