Why do people waste money on tech?
[ROAST MY LESSON]: updated repost from old community Why do people waste money on tech? Because they don't know what technology is for. Every tech exists for one purpose: to optimize a process. That is the case for both archaic tools like hammers, shovels and Excel to also all the modern AI software and smart devices we're seeing launching everyday. You use a shovel to optimize the process of diging, the same way you use many of your tools to optmize the process of not having to keep up with things on paper. So process is key. If you don't have clarity on your process, or if it is not good, than a specific tool will not solve any problem. You will just spend money on something that you don't even know what is for because you were attracted by the shiny object. A mistake made both by single people and big corporations. Overlooking the process and focusing on the tools is the biggest mistake for both IT professionals and those who hire them. Knowing how to see a process with clarity is the most important skill of any person working in tech and what also differenciates people who are succeeding with AI from those who are going to be left behind. Every tool has it's downsides and every software is flawed. But more often than not, when you fail at a project, the problem is not on the tool or the platform you're using, but on lack of planning and proper management. - Automating your sales process is useless without having a great offer - Launching a paid traffic campaign is a waste of money if you don't know where your potential clients are and how to talk to them - A fancy landingpage will not bring you any results without a clear communication and a great CTA - Implementing a CRM won't do anything for you if you don't know how to analyse data and get feedback on your clients in order to continuously improve your process at each new one - Selling a vibe coded app without knowledge on software engeneering and general development processes is a guaranteed disaster.

Because they sell themselves on certain ideas. Then they realize work is involved and they 👻

@Paulo Costa, The Roaster I agree, AI should be enhancing your business not starting it? You kinda need to know what you are doing or these main LLM's will confidently send you in the wrong direction with the wrong data. These days you have to ask them all and compare answers - then double check against real data.
Do you still memorize stuff? - Poll Mondays
Is this a poll or another old man rant at them youngsters and their AIs? You know a fact that scared me recently? Most of Gen Z that I know can't say all the months of the year by head in sequence. And why would they? They grew up with calendars in their pockets, so it's not needed. Smartphones only really came around when I started college. And before that I used to memorize street names and phone numbers of the closest people to me. Now I barelly remember my wife's number and can't mention by head any full adress that's not my own. But having information readly avaiable in our heads is an essential part of our intelligence and also our ability to speak well. And I believe we do need to train our memories like a muscle. Otherwise we will be less capable of doing anything without the assistance of technology. And I know that many would say "why would you?", we will soon have chips at our brains, to access anything instantly. Our own personal Jarvis. Anyway this is a deep discussion that can go on for hours and I don't want to turn this into another long rant.

I rely on intuition and Gnosis. Memorization seems like brain washing and reminds me of School and News.. Never found those helpful.

@Gary Boyd sweet!
Hey hi
Little personal news: I'm moving to a different state. I've been living at a different state than my family for the past 4 years. Now im moving back to be closer to them for 2 reasons: - Raising a child away from family support is super hard. - We got our own apartment there, so that means no more rent. Just a small debt for a quick 30 years, it will go by fast. So I'm not giving up on this place. Just too busy trying to box everything, sell some stuff, find a painter to deliver our rented house and other moving arrangements. I'll be back to the old rhythm in a couple of weeks hopefully with better support for everything and more time to work on my projects and give all of you the roastings you're looking for.

AI can get you a better system and better visibility and @Eric William is the guy to help you with that. Maybe you did it all. Built the campaigns. Got the T-Shirt. But still stuck in tutorial hell! Or worse a funnel that never seems to end. But you have nothing behind it. No real system. No automation. No way to actually deliver. Or the opposite: You built real systems. Real automation. But nobody knows you exist. Visibility without systems = people show up, you fail. Systems without visibility = invisible forever. Both fail. What changes here: You stop learning marketing tricks and start building visibility with real systems behind it. Automation workflows and apps that actually deliver. This is for: Business owners and people responsible for results. Done with guru theater. Done with incomplete solutions. Done waiting for the next trick or secret! Build your visibility system now. @Paulo Costa, The Roaster Its strange for me because I have always done this niche marketing for others businesses, thats were the money is but that can be done on a local or per page level for a good terms related to the business. Which is fine and doable on a website you can expand but to make one super specific topic on one Group Page is not so easy when you have many things that fall under the same topic and only few seconds to get message across. Also for Ads and other networks it has to match and be related especially if you building audience from data

@Karin Crawford I guess it serves as a filter in a way also. When I add more media I would not leave that in first spot. I think video is important there. Maybe even change card a bit when it makes sense.
