Protein Powders...are they safe?
As a research nerd, I love to keep up with the latest in studies and papers published. Protein powder has been in the spotlight recently with the release of the Clean Label Project analysis. They tested 165 products and found almost half had high levels of heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, and arsenic. Surprisingly, organic and plant-based varieties scored the worst. Get more detail, including what this means for you in my latest email. [not on my email list? message me] Do you use protein powder? If so, is it whey, plant-based or something else?

I don't but have been wanting to, mostly to add to a morning smoothie. Do you have a link or source for that research about the heavy metals in protein powders? It really is such a struggle (I feel like in the U.S. especially right now) to trust anything that comes out about health, nutrition, products and literally anything we consume. How do we trust the sources, when those in charge are purposefully spreading lies and misinformation? (I know we don't have an answer)

Welcome to Natural Energy Solutions! I'm so happy you're here! This is a space for real women doing real life... sharing what's working, asking for help when it isn't, and cheering each other on without the pressure to be perfect or have it all figured out. A few things that make this community work: keep it kind, keep it genuine, and leave the spam and sales pitches at the door. HERE'S YOUR FIRST STEP: Drop an intro below so we can get to know each other. Here's a format if it helps: Hi, I'm from ________. A fun fact about me is ________. If I woke up tomorrow with all the energy I needed, I would ________. Here's a pic of ________. Selfies, fur babies, travel shots, backyard gardens... all welcome. Then find two other intros and say hi. That's how this place comes alive. A QUICK MAP OF THE TABS ABOVE: ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Community: Ask, share, encourage - post, comment, and like ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Classroom: Challenges, trainings, and resources live here ๐Ÿ“† Calendar: Live events, Q&A's, co-working See you in the Comments... Hi. I'm Erin from Oregon and if I had all the energy I needed, I'd grow and maintain a program that I created this past summer through a grant, that teaches kids and families (educators and healthcare personnel too) how to successfully model and encourage use of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) systems. I'm a Speech-Language Pathologist, who only recently got more focused, myself, on using AAC with many of my clients. But through a grant, I was able to provide a "camp" for kids and their families to attend at no cost, to practice and learn. So if I had the energy, I'd work on that, tweaking it to become an ongoing and robust program. And to have it become a rich part of a private practice, so I could eventually do that. I greatly prefer working for myself, but the funding side of business is something I know very little about. With all the energy though, I'd be so stoked to learn and perpetuate such a key program for my community.
