Hey, it's Sunny! I've been thinking about what I'm leaving behind. Not in a morbid way. In a what-am-I-actually-building kind of way. Adalyn is 14. Olivia is 11. They're watching everything I do. And lately I keep coming back to one question. What am I showing them about how money works? I came across something this week that hit me somewhere deep. A mentor of mine shared a story about his dad passing away. And in the aftermath he had an epiphany. Changing his family's legacy was on HIM. Not someday. On him. Right now. So he made a shift. From getting paid for what he DOES. To getting paid for what he OWNS. During Covid he bought his son a house. Cash. A solid brick home. Three bedrooms. Two baths. Almost an acre of land. Not from a salary. Not from client work. From ownership income. He said if he'd kept getting paid for what he DID... It never would've happened. I read that twice. Because I know that feeling from the other direction. Twenty one years ago I had a health scare. No diagnosis thankfully. But it scared me enough to leave corporate and start over. What scared me most wasn't the health part. It was realizing that if I couldn't show up... Everything stopped. My income was completely tied to what I DID. That's when I started paying attention to a different kind of income. Owning Digital Real Estate. DRE. Pronounced DRAY. Like Dr. Dre. The poor and middle class get paid for what they DO. The rich get paid for what they OWN. And in 2026 owning DRE is available to almost anyone with a creative plan, some courage, and a willingness to collaborate. I'm not there yet. But I'm building toward it. For me. For Brandon. And for two bonus daughters who are watching what I do with my one wild and precious life.
