Opening Day!
I was lucky enough to be here on opening day -- my first opening day at Mammoth! As @Steve Taylor said, it was low tide in some areas but the coverage was far better than I expected. I was surprised to see the face of Chair 3 was open with some nice packed powder. Too bad they couldn't open the top. They had the line ropes ready on Chair 23 but once the snow started, visibility was not good up top. Couple of my [poor] pictures from the day. It snowed non-stop the entire time I was there. Friday is going to be epic!

@Anthony Barbatto Was a total fluke that I was there for opening day. However, I could not have planned it better. Hope you can get out there soon!.

Looks like Chair 16 is open midweek. Steve lists it as open on his MMS site. The MM site shows it "Expected" this morning and, looking at the cams, the main door is open and they are setting up the ropes.

I don't think I've ever seen a car parked at the top when there has been snow on the ground. Maybe someone got lost? Looks like it's some kind of marketing stunt? Now they're stuck. Someone is snapping pics.

Maybe getting some pics for an advertisement? Funny to see them stuck, considering they drove up to the top.
Mammoth Opening Day Delayed
From the MM site: Due to changes in the current storm cycle, we will not be opening for skiing and riding this Saturday, November 15. However, colder temperatures and snowfall are in the forecast in the coming days. We will be assessing conditions daily and are committed to getting open as soon as conditions allow. We will provide 24-hour notice once Mother Nature gives us the green light. Stay tuned. https://www.mammothmountain.com/things-to-do/events/opening-day
Opening Day Moved to Saturday, Nov 15th - DELAYED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Update on the MM website: Opening Day Pushed to Saturday, November 15. We're looking at a storm heading our way later this week, and we want to make our season kick-off the best it can be. To take full advantage of this new snow, we've made the call to move our official Opening Day to Saturday, November 15. This gives Mother Nature and our ops team the time they need to get the mountain dialed in for some amazing first turns. We can't wait to celebrate the start of the 25/26 season with you on Saturday! https://www.mammothmountain.com/things-to-do/events/opening-day

Daily updates moving forward..
Opening week means I will be posting daily at the website now. https://mammothsnowman.com. I will do my best to engage here at least once a day too. I'm also working on a new webcam network, the first webcam will be open to the public in about a week. That one will have a view from Fast Ski Sports in town around 7,900 feet. We four more that will be installed as my contractor gets time. Some killer views on the way and good traffic cams too. The plan to be at Main Lodge on opening day to view the fun and get some cool images. Will post live on Facebook if there is any connection with the big crowd expected. https://mammothsnowman.com. PS: I'm looking for people who can post images and a mini trip condition reports here in skool after a day on the hill. A few photos and what you thought the snow was like. PS2: Also looking for anybody who loves to take photos, can frame and email them in raw for the website. For the right person this could be a longer term gig.
