Planning!
Hey, just checking in to say hi & see how everyone is doing! It's been a busy couple of weeks for me as we have returned to school. I've been promoted & am now working full time instead of just 3 days 🤯 It's been a struggle to get back to routine, but the morning nidras remain my non-negitiable & I find this so comforting 🙌 I'm also working my way through the expert shorts as I brush my teeth in the morning. I went to a soundbath last night & had a few quite strong sensations, particularly in my hands. I've woken after the deepest of sleeps, so really feel like I benefitted from the whole experience. Trying to ensure I eek out these special moments, just for myself! I too will be filling out my planner today & pinning it to the fridge. I need to make myself more accountable, especially when it comes to doing some movement / strength training. Happy Sunday!

Absence
Hi everyone I have been a little quiet lately. Rex’s dad passed away last week, two days before we flew out to Croatia. We were told to be on standby four weeks prior to this, so as you can imagine mentally draining for us both. As it was, we still managed to get away and we come home on Saturday. Fortunately Rex’s sisters have started funeral arrangements so not too much to organise when we’re home. When I was in the Strong Humans Project run by Keris and Matt they taught us Plan A, B and C. Plan A is where you manage to achieve everything during your day that you planned to do. Plan B was to perhaps achieve half of what you did, Plan C was to tick off at least one thing. No matter what plan you managed you still call it a successful day. I’ve been at Plan C for at least 4 weeks now. So although it’s lovely sitting in the sun and enjoying this beautiful place, I’m looking forward to some me time again when I’m home and to catch up properly on here once the funeral is over. Lots of love Xxx

Sorry I disappeared off the call early, we were away with family & I completely lost signal 🤦‍♀️ It was great to be able to attend a session live, it was my first in a long while! It felt so good to preserve that time for myself, despite being on a big family weekend away 😊
Mental load
I think we will all recognise shades of this, whether a parent or not: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c24j1r45r49o Having never had my own child I don’t know about the maternity leave thing. This mental load issue shows up for me without ever experiencing mat leave, so thats clearly not where it originated in my household. I think it’s come more from societal norms and expectations, although it has definitely improved between us over the years. Where do you sit in this picture and what good practices do you have with your partner to share the mental load?

Mental load is a topic we have discussed many times & my husband really tries to help, but still doesn't quite get it! He offers to split the responsibilities, but as outlined in the article that means me thinking through everything, outlining what needs doing & then, more often than not teaching him how to do it. All of this just feels like even more for me to do! 🤣 I've just started working full time, so we are trying to communicate more & share the load... A big one we are working on is meal planning, as he works from home & can definitely help in this area. I'm not sure how successful it will be, but it does make me feel pretty lucky that he is so willing to try 😊
September Reset Time : Here's Your Plan 🌟
Hey everybody, September is here, and it always feels like a natural point to reset: a bit more structure, a bit more focus on yourself. So I've put together a Self Care Reset for the month. It's in a classroom here It has a simple planner for you to fill in, alongside a full library of recipes (with energy labels if you need), so you can build a really holistic routine for September. You can just print the planner docs alone by grabbing from here. There's something powerful about planning time for self care, protecting it and ticking things off as you go. Watching that streak build is one of the best ways to stay consistent with taking care of yourself. I'd love to see your planners filled in and pinned up, so share away. Let me know how you're feeling and the progress you're making 💚

This is great, thanks Keris. I started back at school this week & have started full time so my plan was to add in a daily session after school, aswell as my usual morning nidra. It lasted 1 day & then I let the busy life takeover! I'm going to download this, fill it in & stick it to the fridge so that the whole family can help make me accountable 🙌
