Book Recommendations
I go through on-off bouts of reading, and finally re-finished β€œFeet In The Clouds” today. I’ve got a novel on the go, but does anyone have any curveball running book recommendations? NOT Born To Run, What I talk About When I’m Running, Eat and Run, 80/20 or any of the other regular standards…something that I wouldn’t necessarily pick up. Thanks ☺️

If you’re also open to fiction highly recommended End Of The World Running Club. It’s a mild-dystopian (though not the usual kind!) β€˜end of the world’ style novel that involves long distance running. I’m currently reading Mental Training for Ultrarunning which I’m finding really good!

@Caroline Claassen It’s fine, not great but not bad. The concept and world setting are good enough to get through the writing.

I’m running Cardiff, but tbh I didn’t realise it was a Superhalf or know what that was until right now πŸ˜‚.

@Caroline Claassen Thankfully my spouse is from Cardiff so we’ll all go and I’ll dump my bag with him and the kiddos. I ran it last in 2013! I’ve wanted to do it again ever since but never got in!

EVERYONE! Share a picture of your most recent run (or at least the most recent one in your camera roll). Whether it's a nice one or not... Let's see that picture! ⬇️

Purposefully held off til today, knowing I would get some good photos of a very slow tramp around Athens! https://strava.app.link/WWOFhrGAQ2b

I ran my first 1/2 marathon on Sunday in Ballarat, Australia (... not London with Sawe). It was a stunning day, in the town I grew up in made the familiarity of the course easier I think and my only goal was to finish. I made it over the finish line in 2:43 hrs which is not bad for this post-partum Mama who has only just returned to running after 5 years off. Here I am (left) with my high school friend smashing a low alcohol beer (which they were handing out at the finish line - so Australian!) post race!
