👋 Hi, I’m Brian!
Hi my name is Brian. I live in Chicago, IL and I plan on making $1800 per month dispatching trucks. I want to get these 3 things from this course/community: 1. I want to learn the ins and outs of dispatching.  2. I would love to network with other people interested in dispatching. 3. I would like to make my family proud by completing my goals with this course. For fun I like to do these 3 things: 1. I love to play video games and stream. 2. I love to BBQ and relax with my family. 3. I love to build businesses / projects and make money. https://www.loom.com/share/883ebd0a9c7e43cb8afe1d762e7873cc Feel free to always message me anytime you guys want I'm VERY interested in networking and just this job field all together. Hey guys just a little random question and poll, Do you have family members in the trucking / dispatch / brokering business / industry?

I’m thinking about having drivers lease on to my company. I have 2 dot numbers one for carriers and one as a broker. I thought that we needed to be more grounded In the dispatching arena. Because when I sign on carriers eventually they will be under my company, we will handle everything for them. Insurance, ifta, dispatching loads fuel cards and factoring.

Hey @K C it can be with negotiating with shippers because you can’t double broker you can’t go on the load board and get a load for another carrier unless you tell them and then this industry now because of all the fraud a lot of people don’t even wanna co-broker is very hard and you have to set up business credit accounts on the load board to be considered a good broker so I don’t plan on making much starting out until later once we get carriers added all under the carrier MC number. Then we can work on contracts with car lots and warehouses. Hopefully that clear some things up.
Inquiry and documentation
i have onboarded a carrier i would like to draft a carrier agreement can i get a Templet from Gil?

MC Number
Good morning! I just want to confirm something. One of the videos mentioned that we wouldn’t need a MC number right away, but what if a carrier doesn’t want to add you on their MC even if you do pay them for it. Also, we wouldn’t have to ask each carrier we work for? I’m thinking that’s more money we’re paying monthly based on how many carriers we work with. Isn’t it sensible to get your own MC if you have more than one carrier? 🤔

Yes, as a broker, you need your number to access the load boards and post loads that you need carriers to move. As a dispatcher you need the carrier number that the carrier has from their authority to book loads from other brokers. Hopefully, that makes sense.

As a former carrier, I have seen the good and bad sides of the industry. Now it’s time to Shift Strategies.
