I want to make things perfect! I've spent a lot of time perfecting things in my head but produced very little out in the world (in terms of content). Time to shift my perspective to focus on putting in the reps and producing rather than perfecting - thanks, Nima!
This is so much like me!! I definitely have a tendancy to overthink and wanting to say everything, being very precise and exhaustive... and therefore it takes me too long and I don't post! This is progressively changing now. It's still work in progress, but I've learned to let go, and I've already improved compared to where I came from!
@Nima Abu-Wardeh one thing that helped me in the beginning, was to record the video (eg Instagram story), do maybe 3 -4 attempts to have something that felt more or less ok, and then post it, WITHOUT watching it. Because if I start to watch it, then I see all the imperfections, and then I don't post it!
I get private messages that are nuggets of gold... I totally understand and respect why many like to have private conversations - however... this group is about us learning and growing together. This is my solution: I will share bits of what's communicated in private - for the benefit of the many - without giving away who relayed it. Someone in the group said he's in it to create viral videos. I asked what the purpose is for him. This is his reply: "Financial freedom. I don’t think that’s my final answer though. Come to think of it, I never asked myself this question before." What about you? Have you asked yourself this question? And if you have, are you willing to share the answer below? For most, the purpose of being here is to earn, either more from what they're doing, or earn from a new business they're setting up.
My objective is to make my new business and the platform I have developped known, and to get more customers. But the more I work with you, the more I realize there is also some work (and progress already made) to unleash the spontaneity and my true personality that are hidden under layers of education and trying not to create trouble!
After a great conversation with Nima last week, I finally made the video I wanted to make.....expressed what I had been unable to speak to with clarity before. The key was to let go of the many expectations I had about myself. To lighten up a little, to let my hair down (literally, I never have my hair down) and to just speak. Here's the final product: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHrBFuyNLho&t=16s&ab_channel=OneUpOneDown
Congratulations Natalie, it is very inspiring! We can see that you are passionate about it. By the way, I am a member of Women in AI France, and we have developped our own mentoring program. So maybe there is an opportunity there to be discussed!
You know the power of sharing what you know and do. Are you doing it? If you are, great! If you're not, how about sharing your challenge. Can be any format/ form of content. It's about shipping it. Do you want to commit to posting regularly? If yes, why not share in a comment: - how often - when you'll start - what format We're all in this together!
I'm in! I actually started last week, with 2 posts showing my face (1 with a carrousel & 1 with a video), which is a first for me!! The last one is here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CuhaZntA37P/?img_index=1 You can like it to encourage me :-) I commit to continue & post 1 short video, every week, on instagram & facebook! I like to take this as a little challenge to myself. I hope others will do it, it's actually fun :-) Thank you Nima for the boost!
