Have you tried the I-V backing track in Bb yet?
I'm using the I-V backing track from the Flutarians Backing Tracks folder transposed to Bb! Share your recordings in the Improv Waterfall and comment with your thoughts: 1) What do you like? 2) What might you do differently next time?

Have you improvised with a drone tone yet today? Today is Bb...
Here's mine! How are you incorporating improvisation into your practice routine? I recommend doing at least these three: 1) unaccompanied improv 2) drone improv 3) improv with the I-V chord change Post your progress in the Improv Waterfall category!

Are you improvising with I-V?
Every time you practice improvising, I suggest doing these three: 1) unaccompanied flute 2) with a drone tone 3) with the I & V chords Here's mine in the key of F major. Post yours in the Improv Waterfall category!

Robert is on it! The chord names/numbers coordinate with the scale. In C major, the 1 chord starts on C. Chords are anytime you have two or more notes at the same time, and they usually consist of three notes skipping a note in between - so on the piano we'd play it with out 1-3-5 fingers. So C major is the notes C-E-G. The fifth note of the C major scale is G. So the 5 (or in roman numerals, V.) chord starts on G. It includes the notes G-B-D. Here is a recording of the backing track!
