#2 - other factors besides current hearing levels can alter the loudness. You can have existing hearing loss and also develop eustachian tube dysfunction from a cold or flu and that will raise the volume.

Tinnitus as a Teacher? 🤔
I want to share something new that really stretched my thinking about tinnitus. But first, a quick acknowledgement: In this community, people are at different points in their tinnitus journey, and every part of that journey is valid and understood here. That said, this specific post may not speak to you right now, and that’s perfectly okay. A few days ago, I spoke with a man named Greg Garrett, who calls himself The Corporate Yogi. He’s someone who built a very successful business life, then turned toward helping people grow through challenges. At first, I thought he was completely out of touch. He said something that made me raise my eyebrows: “What if tinnitus isn’t only a problem to eliminate, but also a teacher trying to get your attention?” My first thought was, “Greg, you clearly haven’t lived with tinnitus.” But as he explained, something started to make sense. In certain traditions, people actually create inner sounds through deep meditation to reach higher awareness. He wasn’t saying tinnitus is the same thing, only that for some people, it can eventually become a signal — a way the body and mind force us to slow down, focus, or take care of ourselves differently. It took me some time to see what he meant, but now I can understand it. Because for many of us, in order to achieve lasting relief (and eventually, habituation), tinnitus does change how we live, think, and respond to stress. And that change makes us stronger and more focused than before. This idea isn’t meant to replace science or therapy. It’s simply another way of looking at what tinnitus might be trying to teach us — about how we live, rest, and handle stress. Sometimes, even asking that question can begin to soften the stress that accompanies tinnitus. As I mentioned earlier, I know that in this community we have people who are at very different points in their tinnitus relief journey. Some are still searching for stability, while others have already found moments of calm and progress. Wherever you are, I truly hope that this community and its content are supporting your path toward relief.

My doctor told me that perhaps the sudden onset of somatic tinnitus for me was a "warning shot" that something bigger might happen. I took the "warning" and have slowed my life down considerably while I try to figure out how to handle tinnitus.
🎯 Two Lies and a Truth – Challenge #2 [ANSWERED]
Time for round two… and this one’s a little harder. 🤔 Only one of the statements below is true. Let’s see who can spot it *without* overthinking. Please vote, and if you’re feeling confident, tell us why you chose it! Warning: only 1 in 10 people get this one right… (or at least that’s what I’m saying to make this more dramatic. 😆)
