It happened…🍞
After several months on a GLP-1—and working on changing my habit of turning to food for…well, EVERYTHING—I had a super not-so-good eating day. 🤪 A friend brought over a warm loaf of homemade bread. And it was GONE within an hour. 😂 I messaged her to tell her how amazing it was and how quickly we had eaten it. So what did she do? She brought over another loaf! And…THAT loaf is now gone too. And I ate most of it. Ha! My stomach was bloated, hurting, and very, very unhappy. So what do you do when this happens? First, I went and laid down. My stomach had officially had enough. Second, I didn’t beat myself up. Here’s what I know: Bread isn’t bad. But my goal is to learn how to eat like a normal human—and eating almost an entire loaf of bread in 24 hours isn’t a healthy way to eat bread. A slice with dinner? Doable. So instead of shaming myself, I got curious: Why did I feel like I needed the whole loaf? What was really going on? The truth? I’ve been overwhelmed lately. And for years, food was my go-to whenever I felt overwhelmed. My brain was simply returning to what it has always done to help me feel safe. It wasn’t trying to sabotage me. It was trying to protect me. That realization helped me feel compassion for myself instead of shame. Then I asked: “What did you need more than a loaf of bread, Diane?” The answer? A walk. So I got up, put on my shoes, and went outside. I noticed the fresh air, the wind, the kids playing, the cars driving by, and the change of scenery. Just 10 minutes—and I felt better. My stomach felt better. My overwhelmed feelings felt better. And that heavy feeling of “I messed up” felt better. Then I decided to start fresh with my very next meal. And I did. That’s how this works. You don’t punish yourself. You don’t starve yourself the next day. You don’t promise to start over on Monday. You notice. You get curious. You give yourself compassion. You figure out what you actually need. And you begin again with the next choice. Perfectly imperfect. That’s Food Freedom. 💛

5 Reasons why you may have reached a Plateau & what to do about it:
I have been doing some research on Plateaus. What I found was interesting. Instead of writing it all out, I made a quick video for you. It’s not a matter of IF, it’s a matter of WHEN you reach a plateau. These are very normal during a weight loss journey. Here you go. Enjoy! 🤩 (Anything you learned here that you didn’t know before? Let me know below. ⬇️ )

All great information, Diane! How my clothes fit is a big one for me. I have a Hume scale and I weigh every day, because it gives me a lot of good information. Also I keep a cloth measuring tape close to the scale and I take measurements once a week with that and what you said about moving and exercise is huge, especially weight bearing exercises, even if it is only your body weight! I have an addiction to the weight room and have had for years. It keeps me rolling out of bed every morning at 4:AM. The eating part for me is pretty easy once I’m locked in. Anyway stay strong, get out and move!

I started on Tirz and lost about 20 lbs, but like some of the rest of you, I couldn’t keep paying that price. My nephew introduced me to Reta and have taken it slow. I’m at 2.5 mg bern there for 3 wks. Will move up to 3 mg tomorrow!

BPC-157
So i seem to be waiting about 4 weeks before I add on new peptides but decided I needed to finally start BPC-157 because I was having some knee issues in my left knee which I have battled with the last 6 years. Last year it was so bad I though I was going to have to have surgery but didn't. I have been doing knee injections pretty regularly from 3-6 months but for the last year have only been able to wait the mandatory 3 months. During the summer my knee was horribly inflamed while I travels for work and went to camp for church. I was basically biding my time until I could get my next injections in July. Got it and have been great until the last week of August and have been struggling since. Last week I had a serious chat with Bob and we decided it was time to start and can I tell you I felt a difference the next day. Morning are usually rough because I am stiff and can't move as well from being in bed for the night. The first morning I woke with a pain scale of 2...amazing. It could have been a fluke but for the last 6 days I have had a max pain scale of 2 in the morning for when I get up. I was feeling so good I kind of overdid it the first day and had a pain scale of 7 which is where it has been consistently for 2 weeks if not higher. Now, the best part is that since that day I also havent had any daytime pain higher than a 5. I am so excited. I just can't wait to see what else this does over the next few weeks. I just had to share!

Yes BPC 157 was one of my first peptides! I had a complete left shoulder replacement in 2021 and never got full mobility back. Where they detached the upper bicep from the shoulder so they can dislocate your shoulder for the new joint. That bicep was not the same it hurt me for about 5 yrs. Was introduced to BPC 157 by my nephew. Within a month pain was gone and I was able to start hitting infield practice with my baseball team. Game changer for me!!

I LOVE this meal. I always keep everything on hand to make this.. It's simple, easy & so good. Ingredients - Lettuce: 4 cups shredded iceberg or romaine - Meat: 4 oz sliced turkey, 4 oz ham, 2 oz salami, and 2 oz pepperoni (chopped) - Cheese: 4 oz provolone cheese (chopped or rolled and sliced) - Veggies: 1 diced tomato, 1/2 diced red onion, and 1/3 cup banana peppers or pepperoncini - Dressing: 3 tbsp red wine vinegar, 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (or 1/4 cup mayo optional), 1 tsp dried oregano, salt, and pepper Instructions 1. Chop the ingredients: Cut the lettuce, deli meats, cheese, and vegetables into bite-sized pieces. 2. Combine: Add everything to a large bowl. 3. Make the dressing: Whisk the olive oil, red wine vinegar, oregano, salt, and pepper in a small jar or bowl. 4. Toss and serve: Pour the dressing over the salad, toss well to coat, and serve immediately. Servings: 2 - Protein: 48–50 grams - Fiber: 2.5–3.5 grams
