This dovetails to @Philip Halton question about amps. I got this Henricksen a year or so ago, but haven't been using it because I haven't been playing out. Part of my goal here is just to see how nylon sounds through the Henricksen. The mic is pointed directly at the amp, so you're only hearing the amp. The backing track is me on a looper. I'm fairly pleased with the sound. I see that @Mentor Miles Barel is also using one of these for acoustics. I haven't tried a steel string through it. I don't want to get too distracted at the moment, but yeah, pretty transparent amplification from what I can tell. @Mentor Kyle Bradley I've been playing some actual classical music with this guitar through the amp, and in that style, it does get a more round, traditional classical tone. In fact, I'm very pleased with it for that, but I didn't really want to post that kind of stuff here. For this song, I was really shooting more for a bright punchy sound, because acoustically, that's what this guitar lacks. Maybe I'm overcompensating. I rotated back and forth with a lot of guitars last night through this amp and through my Fender, and the Lowden with the Henricksen seems to cover a lot of sonic ground.

Thank you @Philip Halton . The song is in my distant memory from one of my parents orchestral albums, but I have no idea what album/ orchestra. Perhaps an even bigger memory was the Fabulous Thunderbirds. In my high school days we wore out their first two albums, and this was a cut on their second album. Kim Wilson's harmonica led the way, with a typically sparse, tasteful rhythm from Jimmie Vaughn, Keith Ferguson and Fran Christina. That was back when you could find them playing the local bars in southeast Texas.

All of Me 2+4, round 2 (chord q4 measures)
My last post was 2+4, with a strummed chord every 2 measures. On this one I'm only strumming every 4th measure. So there's less to fall back on. Infinitely easier to get "off" unless you're counting counting counting.... @Mentor Kyle Bradley you commented on my prior post about adding more chord stabs to thicken it up... for sure. But the point here is that I"m forcing myself to count. It's a weakness, so I'm tackling it. If I put more chords in, it'll sound better, be easier, and I won't have to count as much because I'll be filling those spaces with 'something'. This is (hopefully) growth through self-challenge.

D Diatonix
I want to wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season. Full time grandparent here so I'm not tackling anything new. I'm trying to go back and coalesce some of the core elements over the past 18 months. Each standard was a project that required so much of my attention that I never connected all the dots while working on them. I'm starting here with the harmonized diatonic chord scale in D with root on 5th and 6th string, dialing 4 note descents from the 6th of each mode to land on the 3rd. My next project will be to go back and review major and minor 2,5,1s. Diatonic for the major. MM solutions only for the minor. Then work on the substitutions and secondary dominants and back door stuff. Meanwhile I'm back to sight reading daily from Leavitt and going to make a pass through his modern method one and two. I've done them before but was only reading the music and didn't internalize the actual content. My goal...not play jazz. Just write some tunes. Again cheers! https://youtu.be/vCvVJsX0hqI
