Did you know there are different types of prosperity? Prosperity is a state of being prospered or excelling in an area, but i'm more referring to an anointing that is enabling the success. We all know Solomon had wisdom and prosperity on his life, but what about Abraham? You see God told Abraham to leave his family and to go into a land he would later be shown... Abram did not listen and he took Lot with him. Abraham started to prosper... "And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold." Genesis 13:2 and the Bible says that Lot "also become very wealthy with flocks of sheep and goats, herds of cattle, and many tents" Genesis 13:5 Then Abraham didn't listen again, God promised him he would multiply him and make out of his seed a great nation... But Sarah and Abraham became impatient and had Ishmael through Hagar... but this is what God said.... Genesis 17 18 And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee! 19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him. 20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation. 21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year. So we see that even though Issac, who was not yet born... was the intended recipiant of God's promises, but because Ishmael was Abraham's son... he was not only blessed,... he was promised to prosper because of Abraham. We not only see this in Abraham, but the anointing and generational blessing passed down to Issac, down to Jacob... we see Laban trying to keep Jacob working as long as possible because... Genesis 35:27 Laban said to him, “If I have found favor in your eyes, please stay. For I have learned by divination that the Lord has blessed me on account of you.” 28 He said, “Name me your wages, and I will give it.”
