Spinning my wheels
Did something uncomfortable today… got on a podcast. Not gonna lie, I was nervous as hell before it started. Felt out of my element a bit. But I did it anyway. That’s kinda the whole point of this right now… just stacking small wins and putting myself out there even when it feels weird. At the same time, I’m gonna be real… I feel like I’m spinning my wheels a little. Doing a lot of posting, building this group, talking to people and making connections… but I don’t feel closer to my goals yet. And that part messes with me. Because at the end of the day, I just want freedom. I want money coming in so I can travel and play and not feel stuck grinding shifts. So yeah… mixed emotions today. Productive… but also impatient.

I've been having some trouble. Had a $5k run up in March then suddenly down $3500 in 2 weeks! 😫 Right before wsop Austin too. I'm a dealer so just grinding dealing until the tournament in 13 days no bankroll rn after that slide. Glad y'all are here.

Glad you’re here too James, that’s a sick upswing! It’s insanely admirable of you to shut it down and just get to work as opposed to chasing the losses, I wish I thought like this back then, good luck during the WSOP brother!
Trying to go one day at a time
Well my name is Jay and i have been very successful in sportsbetting. Been doing it over 30 years(actually was given Phil Ivey my plays and did things with him several years ago before he went to Macua. My problem is that my best plsy could be in 7 hours and i get bored and start playing blackjack or betting games i know nothing about. Im very implusive. Just lost my whole bankroll again. i turned $600 into 76,400 in 3 months and then waited for a super lock to bet it all on so i bet 77,000 on my best game of year and won easy had 147,000 and lost in all in blackjack at wynn in 2 days… im successful at poker and sports and know if i could be less implusive i would be fine. I live and work in las vegas as a dealer so now i have to start all over again. So goal is to work 5 days a week and then on my off days gamble Its hard to start from 0 but im going to try.

What’s up Jay, I’m in the same boat as you and I’m here for you brother, we’re in this together! My figures aren’t exactly the same as yours, but I know exactly how you feel about starting over from 0. What has helped me tremendously so far was eliminating my vices while rebuilding, such as poker/betting/drugs, I’m still on the road to rebuilding as well, so I’m not trying to speak on some high horse, but video games, gym, staying at home and just cooking has really helped me find balance and not resort to gambling when I’m bored. That being said I would highly suggest you fill free time with hobbies that don’t require you to put money at stake! Good luck brother, we’re gonna get out of this together
Trying to be better
What’s up guys. Name’s Dustin. I’m currently 27 and was feeling lost for years. I had a 50k roll 3 years ago and found a way to torch almost all of it. Casino, poker, sports betting, investing, drugs, you name it. Almost everything in my life that I enjoyed to do from age 20-26 bled me out. I always found a way to spend money instead of saving, I never quite really ā€œunderstoodā€ how important saving and stacking was until I pretty much lost all of it. Here I am 27 years old with $2,000 to my name. This isn’t intended to be a sob story, but perhaps the beginning of a real rebuild. For 1 month I’ve been sober off drugs, which doesn’t sound impressive but for me it’s fucking monumental. I’ve cut unnecessary spending completely (besides girlfriend expenses lol), I haven’t played poker in about 6 months, haven’t placed a single bet in 4 months, and I honestly have no intention of looking back at the moment. I’ve had a serving job where they allowed me to work 1 day a week and that’s literally what I did for years, because I had it in my mind that gambling would reward me far more than waiting tables ever could. The upswings were pretty nice, but the downswings? Absolutely fucking brutal. You could see I set myself up to fail, I was just too blind to realize it I told myself I was gonna make a change and 2 months ago I’ve been picking up more shifts and set myself a goal to work 4 days a week (at the very least) and put in 10-12 hours each shift to get me back on my feet. I’m doing well in following through so far, just this week I’ve put in 43 hours By the end of 2026 hopefully I’ll have at least 20k from honest work. I’m really aiming for 30/40k but after bills, groceries, gym, and girlfriend, I think 20k is much more reasonable. If you’ve made it this far I genuinely thank you for reading my story, and by the end of 2026 hopefully I’ll have something good to tell you guys. Until then, I’ll just be grinding.

@Brett H congratulations bro! The first 15-20 days for me were pretty brutal but it should be smooth sailing from here on out. Hopefully I’ll be able to say the same thing about myself a few years from now
