Day 19 - Community: Turning Comments into Connections
This right here, for me is the base line of doing YT. Building community around a common passion! Am I good at it, not YET! Is it coming, YES! Am I ready 😳, caution Jaye Brunner, do not look at the summit, look at your boots, one step at a time. Today it is about strengthening how you respond to people in the comment section. Oh, but I don't get many comments! Then starting will be that much easier! OK you are getting a glimpse of my internal thought process! Now that I know, I need to be mindful of the response to the comments I get. It is good to encourage comments in your videos! I am learning to do the ask in a more natural way, instead of pop up stickers and the hard ask at the end of my videos. I have this feeling, a knowing community is coming, this 30 day challenge is helping me prepare! Day 19 is a good day! @Jenny Sharratt @Dr. Saundra Stancil @Eddi Pinegar @Cat PInegar @Adam Tinkoff @Casey Hamlin @Ricardo Solomons @Monika Astara Murphy @Dajana K.

Oh Yeah! You are on your way @Jaye Brunner! So glad you created your community and it looks great! I just got notice that I have access to create my community on my course platform. I'm sooo excited! From what I've seen, I think some YTbers have canned responses. I'm developing some of those myself, but I plan to respond to each and every one of the comments. 🎉Congrats on Day 19 completion!!!!
Brand New Channel - 2 Subscribers on Intro Video (1min46sec)
Thanks you @Michael LeJeune for the continued push to post that video! Last night, I just decided to look at my channel studio not expecting ANY activity! To my surprise--2 Subscribers😁! WHAAT🥹! Shock and the most pleasant way!💖 I received more than one suggestion to post my so called "30-second-supposed-to-be" video, which ended up being 1min46sec after heavy editing of 6min14sec. Such an encouragement to Just Post😃👏🏾! I am doing it and I am on it!!! And, Thank you Cheering & Accountability Team: @Yvette Bowlin @Jenny Sharratt @Dajana K. @Michael LeJeune @Cam F @Travel Gran @Jaye Brunner @Eddi Pinegar r @Adam Tinkoff @Ricardo Solomons @Dawn Ponsford @Monika Astara Murphy @Andy Asher @Deb D @Laura Niebauer @Cat PInegar

Your niche probably doesn't exist yet. That's fine
@Jody Pace asked something in the community a few days ago that I think a lot of people here are sitting with quietly. Can the niche evolve as you go? The short answer is yes. The longer answer is that for most successful creators, the niche didn't exist until they started posting. I had an EV channel a while back. Started it as a general electric vehicle channel, covering the topic broadly, no particular audience in mind. Then I started paying attention to the comments and the analytics. A pattern kept showing up. The people watching and engaging were overwhelmingly British. Not because I planned it that way. Just because of how I spoke, the references I made, the context I brought to the content. So I leaned into it. Narrowed the focus to EVs for a UK audience specifically. The channel sharpened, the right people found it more easily, and the content got easier to make because I finally knew exactly who I was talking to. I didn't plan that niche. The audience told me what it was. MrBeast did the same thing over six years and hundreds of videos before his current format emerged. Ali Abdaal delayed starting by watching 47 videos about YouTube strategy before realising he just needed to post something. The pattern that shows up again and again is this. Creators who plan too long either never start, pick something that doesn't actually excite them, or end up having to pivot anyway. The iteration was always going to happen. You might as well start it on day one. What tends to happen when you just post is this. A few videos flop and teach you something. One occasionally surprises you. The comments and the retention data start pointing at something. You follow that signal. The niche finds you more than you find it. If you're stuck trying to nail it all down before you film anything, that stuck feeling is probably the sign that posting is the actual next step. What made you finally decide to start, even before you had it figured out?

With my new niche, what made me going ahead an post, was a comment that @Michael LeJeune said while doing the challenge. He and several others here thought my 1min46sec video was enough for an intro video. A little frustrated, I was still trying to get it down to 30 seconds. I posted it anyway and got 2 subscribers already in 1 day--I was not expecting any yet (Thanks, @Michael LeJeune for that push comment.). It proves that get that video posted is what is necessary! You are so right, @Des Dreckett. @Des Dreckett, Look at your EV channel--Success!
DAY 29 — Growth Audit (What I’m Starting to See)
Today was a step back kind of day… Up to this point I’ve just been moving — filming, posting, learning, trying to apply everything as it comes. But today made me slow down and actually look at what’s been happening over the last 30 days. And the truth is… something is happening. Not huge numbers. Not viral videos. But movement. I’m starting to see what people respond to…Simple, real content.Things that aren’t overthought.Either a strong hook… or something that brings people into an experience like the meditations. I’m also seeing where I get in my own way. Overthinking.Trying to apply everything at once.Spending too much time on small details instead of just posting and learning from it. That’s probably been the biggest lesson so far… You can learn all of this, but if you don’t keep showing up, none of it matters. There’s a balance here —learning… but not getting stuck, improving… but not waiting for perfect. From a yoga perspective, it feels like practice. You don’t master anything in one session . You show up, you do the work, and over time something starts to open. That’s what this feels like right now. Not finished. Not polished. But opening. Going into the next 30 days, I’m keeping it simple: @Cat PInegar @Dr. Saundra Stancil @Jenny Sharratt @Jaye Brunner @Dajana K.
Congrats🎊! You are almost done🎊! Movement is good! The lessons you are learning here @Eddi Pinegar is applying to us all. You are right about keep showing up. You say so many key words and phrases here and makes me pause to think further! Your audience is going to benefit greatly from your grown and successes. I especially like these statements you said: "You don’t master anything in one session . You show up, you do the work, and over time something starts to open."💡 Another one to save to my arsenal. I am glad you are continuing to the next 30 days. I will be too.
Day 18 - Playlists: The Secret Weapon for Watch Time
I have 4 playlists already, none of them are real watch time drivers, but none of my content to this point has been watch time drivers either. This is not where I am focusing currently. I did make two additional playlists for videos I am making moving forward, Rebuilding faith and Lessons learned from my story. I am leaning more into my testimony on overcoming .... in a conversational manner with tons of b-roll on the videos I am currently making. We will see if this shift will drive the numbers! Time will tell. @Dr. Saundra Stancil @Jenny Sharratt @Cat PInegar @Eddi Pinegar @Adam Tinkoff @Ricardo Solomons @Dajana K.@Monika Astara Murphy
