Ok! Where are my 40 plus members??? I was at the rink last Friday and stopped to help a little girl get up...long came two other teen girls behind me and I tumbled over. I didn't think anything of it. i got up, helped the three little girls up, and I kept skating. Finished the session, then the next day came!!! Oh my my my... it took my all week to recover! Lol... it hurts a lot more and a lot longer after "a little tumble" . My goodness... I have muscles that I did not know existed!!! Good news: nothing is broken 😀 I'm back at it tonight 🤪

So finally, I've healed enough to get on my skates. Went to a session last night for 2.5 hours. Once I relaxed and overcame my fear of reinjury, I felt great. Hardly anyone was in attendance, so the 3 people there could do whatever we wanted. Practiced backwards in opposite direction (clockwise)....fast with crossovers, transitions, toe manuals, and beginner spins. Focused on stepping or doing all moves to the beat of the music. Later in the session, a woman even complimented me on my backwards skating skills. 😊 Next time, I should take a video and post it. I felt refreshed after the session. 😁

Ballroom Win in St. Louis 🏆✨ On January 31st, me and @Knejie Allen competed in St. Louis and brought home the WIN! I introduced ballroom and taught Knejie the style about 6 months ago! This shows hard work, dedication and consistency really pays off and not just for him, but for anyone! We’re going back to the finals in November! Can anyone tell me How am I able to see a schedule of skate party events that happens in ATL & CHI? Just any upcoming skate events during the year that are worth attending. Appreciate it!

Anyone ever just sit down and write out a little bit about all the different rhythm skate styles? I did 😂 I will put some here and please join in and add things that I have missed! NY/NY - seems based in house music. Lots of pivots, trains and trios, figure 8’s, footwork on the 2,4,6 and 8 beat. Chicago- JB or James Brown. Footwork. Four corners, Big Wheel, Buckey Walk. ATL - real swaggy, ryding. Leg crossing, claps and stomps on the beat. Seems faster than the other rhythm styles except for …. Philly - Fast backwards looking over their left shoulder is their claim to fame. Cleveland - jumps! Stomping on beat (literally mesmerizing), group skating. Striding. Detroit - high kicks, intricate footwork using their toe stops, group formations. Cali - LA based. Sliding on fibers. Smooth. I like how they customize dress shoes into skates. St Louis - couple and ballroom skating. G slide DMV area - snappin. 180 degree pivots on one leg. Footwork. Like how there is someone else skating with them to support the “snap”.
