SCAM UPDATE FROM NNA
Important: Update About Find a Notary Inquiry Feature Protecting you against suspicious activity on the platform. Hi Christopher,We are aware of reports that some Find a Notary® subscribers have received suspicious business inquiries through the platform. These messages were sent through the “Send a Message” email feature and may involve spam-like, fraudulent, or phishing-related activity. Protecting our subscribers and maintaining the integrity of FindaNotary.com is a top priority for the National Notary Association. As a precaution, we have temporarily disabled the messaging feature while we review the activity and work on enhancements to limit misuse of the system. We understand the concern this may cause and apologize for any inconvenience or uncertainty these messages have created. How to Protect Yourself Do not click any link provided by a requester from Find a Notary unless you know it’s safe. As a reminder, we encourage all Notaries to use caution when responding to inquiries, particularly those that: - Ask you to join an unfamiliar Zoom or video meeting - Include unsolicited links within a text or email inquiry message - Include attachments from unknown sources - Refuse to provide basic contact information, such as a phone number - Contain vague or generic notarization requests with little supporting detail - Create a sense of urgency or pressure to act quickly If an inquiry appears suspicious, do not continue the conversation or click links in any follow-up emails or text messages. Next Steps Please report suspicious inquiries to our support team immediately using our contact us form, so that we can continue to identify patterns and take appropriate steps to reduce misuse of the platform.

Getting a lot of scams lately targeting notaries. To me that’s kinda strange but I also get scammers saying I ordered something out of state and to call Apple. Nope. Delete
Do you travel with a mobile printer?
Hi, I'm Mariangel, a scheduler at TCSS. 👋 We had a seller package that was almost finished, and the notary had already completed the signing. At the very last minute, the title company realized they had missed two documents (5 pages) and needed them signed ASAP. Thankfully, the notary had a mobile printer in their vehicle, so they were able to print, sign, and resolve the order on the spot! It saved the day and avoided a trip back. I’m curious to see how you all work: Do you keep a mobile printer in your car for these types of situations, or do you prefer to print everything at your office/home before heading out? How often does having a mobile printer actually save a closing for you?

I like scanning at home then I can go through everything and not rush
📄 Scanbacks are more than a signature check.
We occasionally see notaries upload only the signed pages instead of scanning the entire package. The problem? ❌ Missing pages can go unnoticed. ❌ It's difficult to verify that the package is complete. ❌ It's hard to know which document a signature belongs to. Full scanbacks allow title to review the entire file before shipping. They can also help keep funding on track if the originals haven't arrived yet and provide a backup in case documents are delayed or lost in transit. A few extra minutes scanning can prevent delays, corrections, and a lot of unnecessary stress later. Have you ever been tempted to scan only the signature pages?
