Hi Selena! 💜 Welcome! I’m from Connecticut too. 😊 I’m glad to see another CT member here and I hope you get a lot out of the community!

@Jamal Edehikenna Hi Jamal! 😊 I’m doing well, thank you for asking. The weather here in Connecticut is actually pretty nice today. As for the store, not yet. Right now I’m focused on building my community and finishing up my Special Education Advocate training. 💜 How about you? Where are you from?
ADHD TAX IS REAL......
Have you ever bought a replacement for something because you couldn't find it... only to find the original immediately after the new one arrived? I just ordered my husband and I both new credit cards because they expired. I kept trying to tell the lady I didn't want new credit card numbers. I just needed them resent back out. I'm sure they're somewhere in my house... But cant find them (p.s. I was not rude to the lady we were laughing, she is just doing her job). Not even 5min later I found them on the garage floor.... what the flying flippers? I'm sure i was carrying a ton of things and dropped them on the way into the house.... but i looked EVERYWHERE.... Except the garage floor... luckily THIS ONE did not cost me anything.. ( I am finding some wood right now)! What's the most expensive ADHD tax you've ever paid?

Mine is definitely buying something because I couldn’t find it, then finding the original a day later. 😂 As a mom with ADHD, I feel like I’m constantly looking for my keys, my phone, Chase’s stuff, or something diabetes-related. The struggle is real. 😭🤣
Impulse control questions
One of the traits of ADHD is impulse control. I was wondering if anyone else here is dealing with that trait and how you are working with that trait are you using medicine? Are you doing some type of meditation or I don’t know I’m just curious just to see how others are dealing with it. Kind of sucks that you don’t have that hedge so to speak that protects you from your action. You just jump in without thinking, and the consequences with it, and I was just curious how many others felt the same way, and how they work with/through it. .

I can definitely relate. I wasn’t diagnosed until my 30s, so a lot of things finally started making sense. Medication helps me, but I still have to remind myself to pause before reacting. It’s a work in progress, but you’re definitely not alone. 💛
Hi everyone! 🌻
My name is Donita. I was diagnosed with ADHD in my 30s, and my son has ADHD as well. Learning more about ADHD has helped me better understand myself and become a stronger advocate for my son and other families. I’m a Special Education Advocate and have a passion for helping parents navigate ADHD, school supports, IEPs, and educational services. I’m also building a community for women focused on ADHD, personal growth, and support. One thing I enjoy sharing is practical ways to use AI to help with ADHD challenges like organization, planning, reminders, writing emails, advocacy, and managing everyday tasks. I’m excited to connect, learn from everyone here, and share ideas that make life a little easier. 💛 I’d love to know what’s the biggest ADHD challenge you’re currently working on?
