Today's theme had me wanting to pull out something from my past. Back in 1986 when I was in the US Navy we pulled into the Vancouver World Fair as part of their fleet week. While touring around it we had the chance to interact with other sailors from around the world. I traded a Russian sailor my Casio with the keypad for this watch - we were both happy with the trade!

Well. Just wanting to share that I have taken the big step. Some of you know that I am a horology author, and have self-published several watch ebooks, but always had issues when dealing with printed media. My ebooks are really not suited to Amazon distribution. Too big. Too expensive. Too complex to freeze into a fixed format when the content keeps evolving. So I never did it. And people kept asking me for that. Online is good, but paper is paper. The TWM Field Guides are my answer to that. I have repackaged the original content of The Watch Manual to fit. Smaller volumes. Single subjects. Re-designed from the start to be printed, distributed, and sold through the major online platforms — including Amazon. The Brand Guide is the first one. It just went live in print on Amazon and on Kindle. It covers 65 watch brands outlining their history and technical achievements, and includes a list of 350+ secondary brands used by these same companies through their history, and a visual list of 200 marks by movement makers.
