🎬 An AI-driven Halloween film experiment by director Chris Capel
Known for his work with DreamWorks, Disney, Blizzard and branded content for clients like Apple and Nike, Capel recently shared a spec ad horror video, entirely created using generative AI tools. 🛠️ Tools used: – Hailuo 2.0 (MiniMax) – Midjourney, Firefly, Kling – ElevenLabs (voice generation) 🎃 The project blends slasher-style visuals with brand-inspired storytelling, and shows just how far AI-first film production has come, especially when handled by someone with real industry experience. “Scoffed at AI for a long time. Then decided to jump into the fire.” ✨ In my view, this is a very strong and thoughtful exercise, created by someone with clear, high-level creative and technical skills. (Of course... the Halloween theme is quite intense 😅, but that's part of the genre.) What matters here is the direction: AI tools being used not as shortcuts, but as part of a professional, cinematic workflow. 📌 This isn't an official Nike ad, but it demonstrates how far independent creatives can go with the right mix of vision and tools.

I'm from Slovenia and work in marketing. I would like to learn about AI so I can feel confident using it. I’ve been searching for a community where I can start learning from the basics and grow alongside others — and that’s how I found my way here. I’m really looking forward to this journey and everything it brings :) With AI, I hope to understand its possibilities, stay up to date with new tools and trends, learn how to use them effectively, and hopefully, one day, gain more freedom and independence through what I’ve learned.
