Survived the heat , I wasn’t worth anything. But I survived
Quiet
It’s been relatively quiet in our community lately. I would love to know how everyone is doing lately. I can only imagine how busy everyone’s summer is. For me, I’m still using the 30+ stairs each way up and down the stairs to the treehouse’. It’s made an incredible difference in my endurance each time. Now that the tropical depression has moved out of the area (complete with 11 confirmed tornadoes all around me), the heat has become the talk of the town. How hot you may ask? I feel like quickly roasted chicken. And, don’t even ask about the humidity down here. But I’m still doing me and I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. Love to all!!!!

Same stuff on my mind, just don’t want to dump it all out here. Further a lot of work and sport, found a new spark for my goal (which I had since high school) that’s great. Currently a heatwave here aswell. I think that pretty much says it

@Deb Edwards for cold weather you can dress, for hot. Well eventually there are no more clothes to take off
Appears I do not trust progress
Been working out for a little bit now again ,this is my 7th week in a row. I’m doing a program where the recovery weeks are always the same. (Previous one was at week 3) On paper I’ve got better, in my mind: I’ve made an error. I do not know what it could be. Maybe I missed a set, maybe I did it with wrong technique, maybe…. Instead of : okay nice there is progress. I’m looking for proof there isn’t any progress? Btw thinking back, this happens on other things aswell. How can I change this mindset ? If it is even a mindset

@Tyler Buckingham I think I explained it wrong: things did change, I got faster/ were able to finish something I couldn’t before. But my mind is: no you didn’t get faster, you probably missed a set. No you weren’t able to finish correctly, it’s probably a bad technique with half reps You were just lucky this time, can’t do it twice. It is searching for something which makes the “success” not count
Should you compare yourself to others??
Comparison is truly the thief of joy… I was speaking with a client of mine, a successful actress and VO artist, who was comparing themselves to a very well-known actress and star of a hit TV show on Netflix, and honestly? She was right to do so. Let me explain. It is easy to see people ahead of us and immediately compare ourselves to: The success The money The work You name it. It’s EASY to compare that. But what I shared with her was: “And what did it cost her?” “How long has she been playing the game?” “What has she had to give up to get here?” We. Have. No. Idea. On the surface of other’s success it is EASY to compare, so yes, rightfully so she should compare. But that doesn’t mean the answer on the other side is so simple. I know many people in high places who sacrificed families, holidays, relationships, and more because work was more important or the main focus. It doesn’t make it wrong for any of us to prioritize something over another, but there most certainly is a cost and consequences to success. Not good. Not bad. Just different. So before you let your comparison steal your own joy and your own success, keep in mind… You have no idea what someone had to go through to get where they are today. *and this actress? She’s been playing the game since the early 90’s and is now finally “succeeding” even after quite a busy career. Not even remotely an overnight success.

There can be an healthy aspect within. People you look up to: hey I wanna be like them. What can I do? Hey he does it this way instead of that. Let’s try it. It may also help pushing yourself into doing something uncomfortable, that way you will grow. I do believe the line between healthy and unhealthy comparison it thin, but the is and should be an diffrence
