Shoot, I wish I had tuned in earlier. Chad, you talk about growing in season and I know just what you mean. I'm 74 and from Michigan. My dad was the gardener and I loved gardening with him. He taught me so much. My folks had begun as children living on a farm, and they saved money by Dad growing food and our family going to farms that you-picks. Mom taught me to harvest for the root cellar and put up for winter, mainly canning and fermenting. Dad and I had an acreage on my Grandma's farm in central MI. I always had a garden after I grew up, although I grew more for flowers/landscape and had a dyeing garden as I was a textile artist. In 2017, my hubby wanted to move to WA where his Mom had lived. Out here in this beautiful state, I've learned about amazing microclimates next to each other-- and I learned I could garden year round out doors. So much fun. We moved to a larger city last year and are in an apt now so indoor gardening once again. Chad, your you tube and courses have taught me so much about hydroponic growing that I'm have so much fun and eating plenty of greens every day. Our farm market here is a walk from my place and one year round so I look forward to fruits and produce that I cannot grow easily...and winter squash --thank goodness, a fav of mine.
