Be honest — when did you last feel truly rested?
Not "I got eight hours." Not "I had a quiet weekend." I mean genuinely, deeply, fully rested — where your body felt light, and your mind felt calm, and you woke up actually restored. When did you last feel truly rested?

I don’t feel tired. My honest answer is, I am not sure. Sometimes my mind is rested. Other times my body is. I have to see when they are both at rest together. 🫣
Where does it all go!?
Somewhere along the way You learned that your feelings were a problem to manage. Too much. Too intense. Too hard to be around. 😭 So you got good at holding it together. Being useful. Constantly moving. Keeping juuuuuust enough distance from the bubbling underneath So you could still function. But here's what that costs: You can't rest when you're bracing or hiding yourself. The body won't rest when peace is held at arm's length. Real rest (the deep kind) requires that you feel safe enough to let what's there actually move. Not so you can be another problem to solve, but so you can just let it move. This is the second of the 5 States of Rest... (LEARN MORE) Each state gets its own month inside the membership I'm opening this week. Its own practice. Its own nervous system map. Its own way home. POLL | Which feels more true right now?

They are not necessarily overwhelming. I do feel everything. This can be enjoyable, or just be what it is, or even painful. I am just aware of a lot of sensations, and assume it is natural.
Who's tired of being tired... 💙
You've slept. You've rested. You've tried. And you wake up... carrying the same weight you went to bed with. Your body is tired but dropping in isn't happening! There's a low hum of desire that never quite turns off. So close... Jaw clenched. Shoulders up. System on. You would if you could, but you can't! This is what happens when the body learned that rest wasn't safe... and kept holding you up long after the threat was gone. Let's be real... 'tryin' isnt working. You have already 'tried' everything. You need your nervous system to get a signal it may have never received: it's safe to land now. That's what I work with. This week I'm introducing something I've been building for a long time... the Five States of Rest. A monthly practice membership where we go deep into each state, one at a time, with Yoga Nidra designed for exactly where you are. More on that tomorrow. SHARE BELOW | where does your body hold the most tension? I read every one.

Why the Dream State Matters
We still don’t fully understand dreaming. Some say it helps process emotion. Others point to memory, creativity, or learning. But what’s becoming clear is this: Dreaming is connected to how we metabolize experience. And most of what we live through doesn’t just disappear at the end of the day. It lingers... in the body, in our nervous system. If there isn’t enough rest, safety, or space to metabolize it… it stays unfinished. This is part of why dreams can feel so charged. They’re one of the places where the system continues its work. Where what hasn’t been processed begins to reorganize. Yoga Nidra touches this same territory, but consciously. You’re not asleep or trying to figure anything out. You’re resting… while the system begins to metabolize what’s been held. And when that happens, insight doesn’t feel forced. It feels like something finally had the space to land. We explore this more deeply inside the Peace in Rest Program If you feel the pull to understand this in your own system, you can join the waitlist.
