@Jay Moore Thank you, Jay! Mostly I'm doing shorts now... they seem to pull in more views then the long ones did for me. I've tried doing both... but it takes so much time for me to shoot and edit and publish even just the shorts. Until I'm more fluent at what I'm doing… I'm just gonna focus on the shorts for now. It seems like I've been doing it or trying to do it for a long time but it's only been a few months actually… I think I started in September or October. I failed a number of times and became disappointed a few times… But those experiences probably taught me more than the successful videos did. Plus, this community and some of the people I've interacted with here… have been so monumentally valuable to me... their words of encouragement (like yours) continues to help keep my feet moving and my spirits lifted. 🙏💛🙋🏼‍♀️

Revitalizing My Old Channel

I am so glad to be here! I started The Ordinary Christian channel many years ago, never very consistent, but always wanted to make it a real asset for Jesus to encourage His followers. Now I’m all in and ready to learn, apply, evaluate, re-apply and do it again. Anyone got some suggestions for me? I’m ready to take in.

Quick question: is it all right if I create a short and then also create a long video and at least the first half just basically repeats what was in the short?

Wow, Shorts are the bomb!

I've been finishing up a book I'm trying to get to the editor, so I've not been making many videos. I did make one over the last couple of weeks. I think it got a total of 8 views. So I decided to make a short yesterday while I was out. It's taken me a couple of hours this morning just to edit, upload and publish with a creative title and description. When I finally published it… It already had 80 views!! That's just while I was working on it... that happened! Wow, right?! 💃💃 (I so needed that little boost of excitement! 😃🤩)

OOPS... my Short wasn't short enough this morning!

My first two shorts have done well… They've both received over 1000 views each. But they're both 60 seconds long. And that's challenging to make. So I asked AI yesterday if I could make them longer… And the response stated I could make them up to five minutes long. So Yay, right?! Well... after publishing my first scripted and longer (three minute and 20 second) Short this morning... I smiled at all the work I had put in and watched it till the end… But there was no "ending"! So the one I posted this morning cut off at 180 seconds! 🤦🏼‍♀️ But by then I'd already received over 500 views, so I didn't wanna delete it and re-edit and repost a shorter version... So I just posted the ending as a Part Deux! And it's already received over a 100 views! I just hope they hang with me through this learning process! I'm really nervous on how they'll receive the longer and scripted version... because they really need to watch the whole thing or YouTube's algorithm won't put me in front of them anymore. 😬🤪
