Nice distinctive style, @Rich Toczynski. I especially love the lining of your pea coat — glad you featured it in your photo. Lovely home, too 👏
Stop Letting Fear Control You
Most people live their entire lives stuck in the cycle of fear. Fear creates doubt. Doubt creates inaction. Inaction creates more fear. ...and the cycle repeats itself. If you would like to avoid falling into the same cycle... You have to start seeing fear as a signal. It's telling you exactly what you need to do. Whatever it is that scares you the most... That's what you must confront. The only way to eliminate fear is to act in spite of it. Action is the antidote. The more you act... The less you doubt. The less you doubt... The less you fear. The less you fear... The more you act. Quit running from fear. Use it. Let it tell you exactly what you need to do. Then do it. Immediately. Everything you've ever wanted lies on the opposite side of fear. ~ Andy Frisella

Thank you, @Sean Kavanaugh, for bringing this timeless concept into the conversation here @ RMRS. I believe it was Eleanor Roosevelt who said, “You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.” Such motivating words! Now, some eighty years later, they’re as true and relevant today as they were many generations ago. I look forward to a vigorous, widespread discussion with those who feel so inclined on this topic 👊
Time to Saddle Up
Changing things up a bit Wife and I are going to grap some TX BBQ, followed by a little Texas two-stepping New Western- inspired brown jacket, and Bolo ties over a long sleeve pearl snapped Stetson shirt, topped off with the iconic chocolate colored Stetson cowboy hat Not to be overlooked is a Western saddle-stitched belt with decorative contrast stitching—classic cowboy gear that’s meant to be both tough and ornamental. Details matter. Since we be “going to da club” I believe the frag should be Spicebomb. Time to saddle up. No need to wait up, but leave the lights on.

Outstanding look, @Darren Poesel. I love that you’re taking it all the way. The belt is dope 😉 Bet you turned some heads. Thanks for sharing 💃🕺🏻
GRAMMY WEEK OOTD
Hey gents. Hope everyone is doing well! Everyone is in town for a bunch of pre-Grammy parties. This was my outfit for the TJ Martel Wine Dinner which is a fundraiser dinner with the objective of battling cancer. The dress code was Cocktail attire. Have a great weekend Gents!

Outstanding combo, @Rob Blasko. Love the silver accents with the all-black foundation. Super-inspiring 👏
Which “small detail” matters most for you?
Most guys don’t lose points because of big mistakes… they lose points because of one tiny detail that quietly screams “I didn’t finish the job.” If you had to pick one detail that makes (or breaks) the whole look, what matters most? Vote - and drop in the comments why you chose it. Bonus: if you’ve ever been called out on one of these, tell us which one got you.

For me it’s the shoes that matter most. “Clean” is the bare minimum for projecting a well-dressed image, even in a casual setting. In my circle I don’t see a lot of tailored outfits — people dress more for studio work that involves hours of rehearsals, lugging instruments from one location to another, building sets, writing screenplays, etc. This doesn’t imply that they don’t dress well, although one sees quite the gamut of outfits and attention to style. On the other hand, in a concert performance, for example, the manner of dress tends toward the formal. Concert dress is frequently more of a uniform than a statement of style. During the workday, though, my own personal aim tends toward “smart casual,” which typically involves a blazer or sport jacket with chinos or selvedge jeans and shoes. From my experience, the shoes are what get noticed first, then the blazer, then the shirt and pants. (It occurs to me that others who are reading this may have different experiences.) In any case, this is why I pay particular attention to the shoes — their cleanliness, for sure, but also how they help provide a foundation for the outfit. However, having read other perspectives on this question, I’m feeling inclined to adopt regular visits to a tailor as part of my routine. (Grateful for the perspective!)
