With thanks to @Raquel Batista Lighthouse Consulting As mentioned in my previous video, the President has sent the proposed changes to the immigration law to the Constitutional Court. He argues that the process was rushed, lacked proper consultation, and includes vague or unclear legal terms that could hinder its application. Regarding family reunification, he warns that the changes may disproportionately restrict family unity, harm children's well-being, and violate principles of equality and non-discrimination. He acknowledges that if the Court approves it, the law will pass regardless of his veto, and says this moment will be remembered as one where a majority pushed through these changes and will be held accountable in time.
