A Pastor’s Personal Statement on Using AI Tools
I found this article by John Samson helpful as his public Personal Statement on how he uses AI in sermon prep. https://effectualgrace.com/2026/08/12/a-pastors-personal-statement-on-using-ai-tools/

I loved point two!! I def like it for clarity and maybe saying something clearly. However, the study labor and prayer has to be done and felt by the minister! There is no substitute for honest preparation. I am passionate often in preaching because as I have meditated on the text felt I’ve felt its heat!! it’s as if Ive sat beside David, experienced the same sins of Gods people in the Bible and have had the same laments as the psalmist. By the time I get to preach I’ve repented alongside the ancient church, worshipped Jesus with them and cried out to grace with them!!
Systematic Theology
How has systematic theology influenced your preaching. How do you think through it for sermon prep and how do you use it?

@Travis Johns Exactly I do this as to make sure I’m in line with orthodoxy

@McKay Caston yeah I don’t mention the loci of systematics I’m covering in a sermon. it’s more like the hidden code running inside a computer which you don’t see you just know it’s at work. It’s always in the background as I study and preach.
What's your keyword, text, and PPGR outline?
It's Wednesday. I hope you've made good progress for Sunday. 😃 If you have your text, keyword, and PPGR outline and you're willing to share it, post in the comments below. Let's see and celebrate our progress together!

Keyword: Rebellion (2 Sam 18) in light of not only Absalom but Joab too!!
Sermon Series
Hope all is well with everyone! Quick question: Is there an existing lesson on how to form a full sermon series? For example, if I were teaching through the book of Hosea under a overarching theme like "The Gospel According to Hosea," I'm wondering how the PPGR framework can help map out an entire book on a grand scale?

Office Hours: How to Preach Sermons People Share
If you want to preach sermons that people share, change your sermon title. I guarantee it will change how people respond to your next sermon. But first, we must face two realities. 1. Your people can't share what they don’t remember. 2. And won't share what doesn't change their lives. So, again, here's the simple shift. Title your sermon for application, not information—and then build the sermon to meet the promise of the title. I'll show you how in tomorrow's office hours—11:00 AM ET! Join here
