Write a Thank You to Your Students
Gratitude shifts culture. This week, write a thank-you note to your students. Thank them for effort, kindness, or simply showing up. Share one line of your note here. Gratitude multiplies when we share.

I say that to my kids at the close of most classes. Thank you for your attention and participation.
Your favorite way to …
Remember names? For those of us with multiple classes and 60+ students to learn. What is your favorite way to remember each of their names quickly? I’ve always struggled with names so I make flash cards using their school picture from the system.

Alphabetical order seating chart. The first day I had them make a “nameplate” (a piece of colored paper tri-folded, and I kept them the first few days and handed them back as I did attendance until I had most of their names down. I have about 95 kids total.
Classroom tools… AI edition….
Since Daryl spoke about Brisk teaching, I have gone mercilessly down a rabbit hole Learning and exploring all it has to offer… I wish I had this when I was in the classroom, I swear. So now I’m on a mission to share it with anyone who so much as looks in my direction 🫣😂😂. What’s the one classroom tool you absolutely CANNOT live without??

I have Brisk but I never use it. No idea what all it can even do.
Suspicious text message…
Has anyone received a text from Christine with IMPACT saying their membership expires today? I know I paid for a year. Can someone please verify?

I did also. Message and email. I was pretty sure I paid for a one year thing and lifetime access to the most recent 180 conference recordings. I still haven’t even had a chance to watch them.
Day 1: Encourage + Engage Challenge
📝 “Write your First Day Message” Craft a short welcome message you’ll share with your students on Day 1. Something that sets the tone for your classroom culture. It could be a sentence, quote, or mantra that reflects the vibe you want all year. I'll start. "Before we get started this year, the one thing I need you to always remember is ...'if it is possible, you are capable." If it can be figured out, you are smart enough, strong enough, and capable enough to figure it out"

@Antwoine Williams I love this video, but I am a little worried about showing it to my class this year because it mentions wanting to hurt yourself and so on right there toward the end, and one of my kids this year will be a girl whose big brother took his own life right after school got out in May. 🫤😳🤷‍♀️

Next year will be my 10th year overall, 9th year at my current job. I am just trying to do it better every year.
