Currently writing a course on ADHD and Time...
I want to share a bit about what I've learned. - ADHD brains don't track time like neurotypical brains. Time for us is not linear. 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄. - 𝗪𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲. What does this mean? We base decisions on how long something will take by the way it makes us feel. If a task 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀 hard, we think that it will take a long time. If a task 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀 easy, we think we will get it done super fast. This is why we avoid some tasks for extended periods of time, only to do the task and be surprised how fast we got it done. Or the opposite - we dive into the "easy" task and it ends up taking a long time and throws off our whole day. - This makes it hard for us to estimate how long something will take. We either over-estimate or under-estimate. This information has me reflecting on my experience with time over the years. I can see the pattern clearly now that I understand it. 𝗪𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁! I am curious. What are your thoughts and experiences with time?

We are ready for it
We got a divorce 🥴
Hey Founder fam—you may have noticed some big changes lately. Over the past few weeks, Rex and I have had a lot of honest conversations about the future of what we’ve been building together. And after a lot of thought and care… We’ve decided to get a divorce 🤝😂 In all seriousness, this wasn’t an easy decision. @Rex Loyer and I are ending our business partnership. We have a lot of love and respect for one another, and Focus Founders wouldn’t exist without both of us. I especially want to acknowledge Rex for the role he’s played—helping me to stay focused when shiny objects hit (yay ADHD 😄), running the daily ETF co-working sessions, and bringing the Accelerator program to life. I appreciate the hell out of you, dude. Thanks for building this thing with me. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀: Rex will continue building his coaching business under the Focus Founders brand name. And I’ll be continuing with this community, but evolving it into something new: 𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝔽𝕠𝕦𝕟𝕕𝕖𝕣𝕤 𝔾𝕦𝕚𝕝𝕕 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿'𝘀 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱? The Founder's Guild is the natural evolution of what we started with Focus Founders… But with a deeper focus on what this has always really been about: 👉 helping ADHD and neurodivergent entrepreneurs build businesses and lives that actually work for their brains 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲? I originally started this community before Rex and I met, as the ADHD Entrepreneur’s Playground. My vision has always been to help ADHD founders lead lives they love. That is not changing. It’s still about: - The people - The energy - The mission of helping ADHD founders thrive If you’re here, you’re in the right place. We will also continue to offer the 5 AM CST virtual co-working sessions as well as the 12 PM CST in-person Thursday sessions in Austin. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴? - The name → The Founder's Guild - The direction → even deeper into ADHD, creativity, and building a business and life you love - The 10 AM CST co-working sessions will be paused until further notice.

Any book dragons here?
Hello Hello lovely people I'm Anete - Holistic Therapist, yogi, mum, avid romantasy reader & book dragon (I collect pretty books but don't always read them). I'm also a founder of ADHD Emotional Regulation Club here on Skool. I joined this group because it's for ADHDers and I'm new to skool. So interesting to see how things work here and maybe learn something to help me too. Biggest challenge for my business is marketing and not for the lack of tools or knowledge but really understanding what works for my clients you know? I'm not a typical coach so I tried marketing for coaches and it didn't work. So now I'm going to try a different approach using YT and blogs and see how that goes. Back to original question - any book dragons here? :)

@Anete Faulds I like that kindle lets me read at night or during a migraine. I can't do that with books

Stop Over-Extracting Your Thoughts
Set aside a specific “worry time” each day—15-20 minutes when you’ll deliberately engage with your concerns. Choose a time when you have mental energy and not at bedtime or when you wake up. Yup works in relationships too. Set a time to have the conversations that might not be pleasant. Makes it easier to be stable and secure the rest of the time outside of it
