Happy Sharad Navratri! The most auspicious nine nights of Durga Devi began on Sunday! 🌹 Each night is dedicated to a particular manifestation of Durga when she killed the demon Mahisasur, the buffalo demon. He represents laziness, ignorance, and inertia. This is a time to celebrate the triumph of “good versus evil.” Each Goddess represents a night with a color, mantra, and more. These nine nights are auspicious for our inner study and sadhana (spiritual practice). Take time to go within as we honor these energies. The first three nights are dedicated to Durga Devi and are seen to help cleanse misfortune and remove negativity. Night one 10.11: Shilaputri Devi 🏔️ Meaning: daughter of the mountain king. She is seen holding a trident and a lotus and riding a bull. She gives the boon of fulfilling wishes. Color: Yellow Mantra: Om Shaam Sheem Shoom Shailputryai Namaha 🪔🪔🪔 Night Two 10.12: Brahmacharini Devi 🧘🏽‍♀️ This Goddess symbolizes the penance and meditative nature of the Goddess. She represents a celibate woman. She wears white and holds a mala and a sacred Kamandulu. Color: Green Mantra: Om Braam Breem Broom Brahmcharinyai Namaha 🪔🪔🪔 Night Three 10.13: Chandragantha Devi 🌕 Form of Durga, who rides a tiger and holds weapons in her ten hands. Her anger destroys enemies, and she can be called upon for protection against inner demons. Color: Grey Mantra: Om Hreem Kleem Shreem Chandraghantayai Namaha Night 4-6 of Navaratri! 🪔🔱🌺 These three days are dedicated to the Goddess Lakshmi and represent the material mode of Passion (Rajas). This is a good time to channel our energies into harmonious things rather than scatter our energy to what doesn’t serve us. Night Four 10.14: Kushmanda 💫 Brilliant as the Sun god himself. Her name means the one who created this universe as a “little cosmic egg.” She brings forth warmth and life. She has eight arms holding a Kamandalu, Bow, Arrow, Lotus, a Jar of Nectar, Discus, and Mace. In her eighth hand, she holds a mala capable of giving eight Siddhis and nine Niddhis. She rides a tiger and bestows unlimited pleasures.

Hey Mystiks! I made my way up North on Monday with my friend Om and his husband to their beautiful farm tucked in the mountains. In just two days, I will welcome a few of you here for this intimate gathering for the fall equinox. I am being reminded how important it is to move slowly and intentionally. Life in the city speeds up our cellular motion. Creating imbalances in the nervous system, mind, and spirit. When we disconnect from the land beneath our feet, it’s easy to forget how to live in harmony with the Earth truly. As I get a glimpse of the life my friends have created, surrounded by pine and oak trees, 7 dogs, 18 goats, and approx. 30 birds. I am reminded of my ultimate goals in this lifetime. Be fully immersed in ceremony, sustainable systems all around me, nourishing food, and heartwarming community. It doesn’t have to be extravagant or fancy. It just has to be One with the Earth. These next few days will be filled with song, prayer, journey work, Ayurvedic food, integration, and most importantly, celebrating the year thus far and preparing for the harvest and winter. Hey Mystiks! We are in a transitional month in September. Between two seasons, summer and fall. This is a time of pause and preparing for the coming harvest. I’ve been deep in my processes of the summer and preparing for my fall retreat, as well as The Mysterium, as I start a new cohort in October 18th. My work up to now has been very intimate, and I have noticed this is a strength, not a weakness. Because of this work, I am constantly reminded that the dance must be danced — in the way two energies connect in physical reality. As I continue to focus on my own shadow integration and Soul Retrieval work, I am being led to be more purposeful and intentional with how I show up online and in-person. 👁️ Shadow Dance Mystiks will continue to have the free monthly community calls and will share a workshop here and there when it feels aligned.
